Question about Belkin (F5D7132) 802.11b/g Wireless Access Point

2 Answers

Belkin f5d7132 Belkin says it is a universal range extender. Will it work with other brands of routers? I'm trying it with a netgear router. Belkin says all I need is the ssid and have router on channel 6,11,1 or 9. What are your thoughts? The factory setup got me connected with another netgear network outside my house.

For best results, you should connect it directly to the other router with an ethernet cable.

F5d7132 driver win 7

This is not a router, but a range extender, it does not need a driver just an interface with which to configure it.

Belkin do not say that they support this on W7 but have a bit of software that configures it at http://en-uk-support.belkin.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2865/kw/F5d7132

Good luck.

Can I extend my internet range with a netgear & a Belkin router

DG834G is a modem/router, it is not a range extender that could extend the range of the wireless signal from the Belkin router.

Can I boost signal strength?

You will need to get hold of a Belkin Wireless G Universal Range Extender relays the signals of your wireless network and extends its range model number F5D7132 from PC world or another online dealer.

You will still need the wireless router as the central connection point, using the booster your network now reaches further I have one at the top of the stairs with the Router downstairs to I can browser wirelessly in the loft conversion of my old house

Use Belkin f5d7230-4 as a wireless access point

Hi Druid,

Based upon what I've read regarding and experience with the F5D7230-4 is it will only work with another F5D7230-4 or F5D7231-4, F5D7130, F5D7132 and this are all Belkin products as well I thiink it has something to do with the WDS compliance for this specific model that's why they have clearly specified on the User Guide which devices are guaranteed to work with an F5D7230-4 that is set to AP Mode(Bridge/Repeater).

If you really want to exend the wireless coverage of your Linksys router I suggest you try the Wireless G Range expander(WRE54G v2.0/3.0 version 1.0 I do not recommend since it's somewhat challenging to configure since it has no ethernet port all the setup will be done wirelessly)

click this link for the User Guide of your Belkin router.

i would look at home plug solutions:

http://www.solwise.co.uk/net-powerline.htm

Solwise are goog guys or buy from Scan computers - again good for support and returns if you have to.

Belkin - personnally would not touch them! Too many bad experiences like you.
