Not clearwhen looking thru eypiece when Itake eypiece out and look in without there is a clear image

The eyepiece may be DIRTY-- clean it gently with an eyeglass cleaning solution. DO NOT use must liquid as it can seep behind the lens. Locate a local Astronomy club and the members will help you with the scope.

Sony TVR68 camcorder--Playback mode works fine. In camera mode, I have no image in eyepiece or LCD screen

Hi obx4ever, If this helps, the CCD was a problem I had in a lot of those camcorders and only replacement cured the problem. Only a sony authorized service centre will be able to replace the CCD for you. The CCD is a closed coupled device which generates the image that you see in the eyepiece and LCD screen when in picture mode. Michael.

Hi,

Apparently the vendor-supplied CCD image sensor used in this Canon digital camera may cause the following malfunction: When the product is used in recording or playback mode, the LCD screen and/or electronic viewfinder may exhibit either a distorted image or no image at all.

To determine if the CCD (image sensor) is working properly, follow these steps:

1. Insert a memory card with known good images on it into the camera.

2. Power the camera on to the Playback mode.

3. Press the DISPLAY (DISP) button to enable the LCD panel, and observe
the LCD.

a. If the images are displayed properly, please proceed to step
four.

b. If the images are not displayed, or a "NO IMAGES" message
appears, please ensure that the memory card contains known good images.

c. If the card contains known good images, and the issue persists
with a second memory card, the camera will require service.

4. Switch the camera to the Camera mode. You may use any shooting mode
(i.e. Auto, Manual).

5. Press the DISPLAY (DISP) button to enable the LCD panel.

6. Point the camera at a well-lit scene and observe the LCD and/or
viewfinder. If the scene the camera is pointed at appears on the LCD
and/or viewfinder, the CCD is operating properly. If the LCD and/or
viewfinder remain black, the camera requires service.

Effective immediately, and regardless of warranty status, Canon will
repair, free of charge, products exhibiting the above-mentioned
malfunction if the malfunction is caused by the CCD image sensor. Canon will also cover the cost of shipping and handling in connection with this repair.

Regards.

Everything is working properly but cannot see anything from lcd or view finder

Hello. First thing...is there *any* display at all such as a number code in the upper right hand corner of the lcd? It will appear as "C:00:00" or "E:00:00", minus the quotation marks. If there is a "C" in front of the numbers, the problem is fixable by you--an "E" means that the problem has to be addressed by a tech. Next, to reset ALL functions back to factory defaults, open the LCD display on the side and locate the small reset button just to the left of the MENU button. Use a pen or pencil (the end of a paper clip works beautifully) and press the button momentarily. Don't use a lot of force to do it--not needed. If this doesn't bring up any display, then there is an internal circuit problem.
Can you see an image if you play back a tape? If so, then the problem concerns the CCD chip or associated circuitry. The ccd chip provides all the video information to the eyepiece and lcd screen in *record* mode. In *playback* mode, the camera acts just like a small VCR. Any video is being pulled from magnetic tape.
Is the camera still under any type of warranty? A CCD chip problem is a major repair and will be relatively costly. Do not repair the camera through a store! Find a reputable repair facility and ship it directly--the cost will be FAR less.(Retail stores take the actual repair quote, half it, and add the half to the quote *you* see.)---Hope I helped you!---Rick

There's a good possibilty that your mode switch is broken. Same thing happened to my Z6. I was able to source replacement switches, and can replace them.

The filename (e.g. DSC0012.jpg) shows the image number, the filespec shows the date and time recorded. Most software will give you document info about resolution of the image. I wouldn't worry about what the battery status was when the shot was taken or how many other images were on the Mstick. I guess I'm not sure what you need.
