I cant reset wireless key on my router it says do that if it wont accept my password

To do this, press and hold the Reset button for 10 seconds. NOTE: Resetting your router to its default factory settings will also reset your router's password. The router's default password is "admin" as for the username, just leave the field blank.

My new HP desktop is asking for PIN of wireless router. My router is Netgear N600 WNDR3400v2. All I can find is two MAC #'s and the S/N. Where is the PIN?

This router does not use any type of PIN. You may be confused as the HP wireless networking setup may be asking for the "password", or WPA2 key that secures the wireless network. This must be entered before the router will accept the client and assign it a network IP address. The WPA2 key is stored in the router under the Wireless Settings Option. Unfortunately, if you don't know the key, going there won't help you as the key is not visible.

Kindle will not accept my router password

If you are seeing a password with a s/n prefix then you are looking at your router serial number - you should have another combination of characters which may be listed as a key which goes with the SSID which is the name of the wireless network as you see it in the list of networks.

Hi there, We have a wireless network which doesn't require you to put in a WPA password. A visitor is staying, and somehow, when getting on our network, managed to rename our network as his own,...

your only option is to reset the router, as i am guessing he has changed the admin password as well as the wireless key.

to reset it you will need to hold the reset button in the back of the router for at least ten seconds, you will then have to set the router up as you had to when you originally got it, you should have a cd that came with the router to simplfy this.

you will need any access info your ISP gave you i.e. username and password, which the cd will prompt you for.

You should also change the administrator login password of the router to stop anyone doing this again. That was how he/she was able to change the settings.

I am installing an HP wireless printer and I do not know my security key or passphrase.I have a Belkin N Wireless router serial # 12822823312400, PIN Code 51219420. Can you help? Ron Huffaker

They were set when the router was first installed. If you have lost them then reset the router and it will return to the default ones: the user is - admin - , no login password and no security key. You must set them all again and this time put them on a label and attach it to the bottom of the router

We just added a second laptop to our home network and in setting up the laptop for wireless it asked for a pin number for our linksys wireless router but the pin number is not on the unit and we don't have...

Yes this is very straight forward

open internet explorer on your computer which is connected to wireless router.

browse to your gateway address. The default for linksys is usually http://192.168.1.1

then it will ask for username and password

linksys default username: (leave this blank)
linksys default password: admin

if that doesn't work try username: admin
password: admin

Once logged into console you should be able to see wireless security settings

Click on that and it will take you through to a page with your security settings on there you will see a wireless key or network key or wireless passphrase.

simply make a note of the key as its written. (If the password is masked or *********** out ) which is the case on some of the newer linksys devices you can simply overtype the password with a new one, bear in mind that you will have to then update any clients that normally connect to the wireless network with the new password. So thats all computers, laptops, DS's Wii's Playstations & Xbox's.

******I'd STRONGLY recommend you DO NOT change the wireless password / security key over wireless you should always do it using an RJ45 ETHERNET cable connected to your computer and the router. *********

Thanks

How do I find the pin number on my wireless router?

You need to have the ability to get to the internet from a PC to get this information. Whichever machine will connect to the internet, use it and follow these instructions:

1. open a browser (I/E or Firefox)
2. Enter 192.168.1.1 in the url field at the top of the browser
3. Enter your login as admin and password. If you don't know your password it is probably admin.
This should get you to the router settings.
4. Select the Wireless option
5. Select wireless security along the bottom bar of options
6. You should see the WPA Key, that is your security code for a wireless connection.

If there is some other ID you are looking for, send more information as to what the pin number is for?

Can you give me my belkin54g password

This website gives you all the passwords to get into your router. There is no way anyone can give you the key to your wireless SSID.

http://www.routerpasswords.com/

2wire and some other brands actually put a 10 digit key code for the default SSID on the serial number lable of the device.

Can't connect wirelessly as it won't accept my password.

Hello paulclarke88;

What your router is asking for is a secure wep login. You can provide this number by loging into your router directly, and go to the securty section of the menu, and generate a new wep key. It will then generate a key, that you should write it down, because this new key is what will give you access with your Acer. Typically the Dlink login is ip address 192.168.0.1 Usernames admin Password
is left blank.

Good Luck and don't forget to leave a rating.

Thanks Mark
