Freezer not freezing

Red light on for High Freezer Temperature Warning
or freezer not cooling, but fridge is and a lot of noise from compressor.
Also, fridge drain hole blocked, water in bottom of fridge.

This is a common fault in Hotpoint Fridge Freezers and can also happen if the door has been left open or has been a power cut.

1. Turn off fridge freezer, or at least turn down the freezer temp to minimum, though not ideal.
2. Open freezer door and remove all drawers.
3. Remove the back panel on the inside of the freezer. This is held in place with 4 screws, which might be 6mm hex head or star allen head. Pull the panel out.
4. Behind where the panel was, there is a cooling element for cooling, pipes, and below this a temperature sensor. If the fridge freezer is not switched off, then fold together a few layers of tinfoil and wrap around the sensor.
5. Use a hairdryer to slowly melt the ice. Melt it around areas where it appears to be hanging on, such as the corners of the cooling element or bolts, as well as any thin sections below the main block of ice around the cooling element, which will be supporting the main block. Use a plastic ice scraper to remove ice but not near pipes or sensor.
Warning: Be careful using electrics around water & melting ice & drips.
6. Below the cooling element, there is a drip channel & drain hole. If this hole is full of ice, pour a small amound of warm water down, leave for 10 seconds and pour a bit more until clear.
In the fridge, clear the drain hole in the same way.
Warning: Do not pour a lot of water down, as this water drains onto a tray above the hot compressor at the rear of the fridge freezer to be evaporated by the heat of the compressor and the tray will only hold a small amount.
7. When all ice is removed, dry all moisture. Put the shelves back. Close door. Turn on fridge freezer. Turn up the freezer temperature to your normal setting. Turn on fast freeze if available. After 1 hour, check with a thermometer. It should be cold enough after 1 or 2 hours.

Isn't cooling, doors feel hot to touch

check the condenser fan motor, pull out the machine from the wall and then remove the back bottom panel, you'll see the condenser fan down there, make sure it's blowing, also check the condenser coil,it should be cleaned out at least once a year.next time you write it would help sending the model number and brand name.good luck.if it is the fan you can stick a regular house fan back there to keep the compressor cool until you get a new fan motor, keep the bottom panel off and just point the fan at the compressor.hope this helps.

WILL NOT COOL OR MAKE ICE. COMPRESSOR DOES NOT SEEM TO COME ON.

next time send the model number off of the fridge, side by side or bottom freezer model number is in fresh food section, right hand wall up near ceiling or on ceiling, top freezer look on left side wall.if the compressor isn't running most likely you have a bad start device located on the side of compressor, pull out the fridge, unplug it,remove the back outside bottom panel and you'll see the compressor, pop off the metal clip, remove the cover and slide off the start device or overload and relay same thing, then shake the device,if you hear pieces rattling around inside it it's bad, easiest way to check it,if you open the freezer door and you hear the fan blowing around most likely this will be your problem, you might hear the compressor clicking trying to start and it will be hot, also vac out the condenser coil and make sure the condenser fan motor is running good, over heating can take out the start device.good luck.

LG Fridge LSC26945TT compressor getting to hot and not cooling

if it's not cooling unplug it so you don't damage the compressor, hopefully you just have a bad overload and relay,it's plugged into the side of the compressor, with the machine unplugged remove the bottom back panel, look at the compressor, remove the cover on the side of compressor and remove the start device or ptc assy. call your local parts store and give them the model number and buy a new start device for your machine.if you can hear a clicking sound every once and a while and the compressor is hot change this out first,if it still doesn't start then you have a bad compressor and will be in the market for a new fridge if the compressor is running take everything out of the freezer, remove the back inside wall of the freezer and check the evap coil,if the coil is all iced up you have a defrost problem,if the evap coil doesn't have an even frost pattern covering the whole coil you have a freon leak.if you have a freon leak you'll have to replace the fridge..hope this helps

Freezer is cold... fridge is not

Could you pull it away one more time and feel the compressor to see if cool, warm or too hot to hold your hand on. That tells me a lot of things. I want to see if your compressor is shutdown, running but not cooling or trying to start and cannot. That will help me to answer what we need to do next. Sea Breeze

Freezer not freezing and fridge not cooling

Check the back wall of the freezer for ice buildup.
If yes, a defrost parts problem.
Check the freezer fan. Is it running?
If no, replace the freezer fan.
Check the condenser fan at the compressor. Is it running?
If no, is compressor hot?
If compressor is hot replace condenser fan motor.
If compressor is not hot.
Replace the compressor start relay.

Refrigerator does not cool

If the refrigerator cooling is poor, it may be a problem with the thermostat, the compressor, or the evaporator fan. If ice is accumulating at the back of the fridge, that can also be a reason for poor cooling.

See aso the links below for a more detailed explanation:
