Question about Philips Magnavox 51MP392H Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Audio only, no picture

I have a Maganavox 51MP3922H/17. It is 3 yrs and 4 months old. The picture just went on it, it shows a black screen with only the sound. The menu screen doesn't even come up for me to switch over to the DVR.

Any ideas?

Audio without video is usally a vertical or horizontal deflection problem with the DPTV chassis and Mag 1 chassis which is what you have. You may need a new deflection Large signal board. If you would like a link to one of those boards let me know.

60 inch projection, about 4 yrs old, no picture made a pop noise and screen went black still have sound

Hello,

The pop noise you heard was as a result of the t-com board getting burnt.

Try to replace your t-com board and your television will be okay once again.

Take care

Power boards are like time bombs. When it's time is up, it's up. Since it is 3 yrs old, I would buy a new tv. Most TV parts only last 3-5 years anyways. It did a good job.

I hope youre lucky enough for that to be the only time, but mine has been doing this for over a year, getting progressively worse. As of the last 2 days, it has to sit over night b4 it will show an image again. Good luck with this B.S. tv. (Just spent $250 on new bulb last month too, had set 2 yrs. )
