  • Anonymous Mar 27, 2009

I have a Maytag Neptune clothes dryer, it worked well in the morning. That afternoon when I needed to dry clothes it would not start. I could hear the timer was on, but when I pressed the start button it would not start.

Thermal limiter stops dryer; replaced multiple times. Dryer dead.

I think you are working on the wrong end. Check the fan and inlet ductwork of the dryer, if the air isn't moving properly, it will not move enough to keep the coils and limiters cool and they will fail after working properly a few times.

Maytag Dryer Working Fine Stops Working

Take off the top of the dryer and you will find somewhere near or at the drum a fuse. Try bypassing it first to see if it works. If so, go get one for about $10.00. There may be a wire that has burned off at the connection in the back of the dryer also.

My Dryer will only work if I hold start button, when start button is released the dryer stops working.

Anra, the problem is in the even heat board under the consol. This is a very easy job. Check out this link. Catriver, post back http://www.repairclinic.com/0080.asp
