The blackberry scolling ball doesnot work - Cell Phones

The balls get clogged with grease and skin from your finger over time. turn off the blackberry or pull the battery. Get rubbing alcohol and a cotton swab and rub the top of the ball getting off as much of the black as you can. Rotate it slightly and do the same until the entire ball is done. Then push quickly upward against the ball, downward, left, and then right several times in each direction.

Replace the battery, start the phone, and see how it works.

u can go on ebay and buy a new trackball for ur phone that is what I did and it works great..

pry silver cover ring off gently. Then remove ball assembly and clean with compressed air. If this does not work you can buy ball assembly on line.

Use a alcohol swab and gently rub it over the trackball. Rub it and roll the ball.. Eventually this cleaned the ball and it worked perfectly!!!!

try cleaning the track ball with a qtip dipped in alcohol or nail polish remover.. It could be that the track ball isn't "reading" correctly due to oil, etc.

Is the ball registering left right up and down and just not selecting? Sometimes the ball gets dirty. You can clean them most of the time. Cleaning the track ball on blackberry phones. Remove the metal ring then the ball mechanism remember how you removed it because it needs to go in the same way. You can also try removing the battery from phone taking a qtip with alcohol the higher the percentage of alcohol the better. and wiping and rolling the ball around even without removing it from the phone. this usually helps unless the ball is extremely dirty.
