It sounds like the battery has low voltage. Maybe it requires charging, Some types of batteries will "struggle" on after they are discharged, providing not enough power to properly amplify the music. Give the battery a full charge and try again.
No, mine seems like just a piece of plastic that doesn't react to anything. I have the battery in it, the computer recognizes it, but no music or files it acknowledges. I'm taking it back. How upsetting. I thought I had a new music player, and it's just some piece of worthless plastic connected to my computer until I return it. I got the cheapest, 30.00 one. I don't like it.
get a small paperclip. unwind the outer part so you have a straight piece sticking out at a 90degree angle. insert the end of the straight paperclip into the small hole on the lower right side of the player ~ this is the RESET button. it does not delete any content; it just interrupts power. the only thing you will have to do is reset your TIME settings. this SHOULD work. you don't have to, but you can re-create the 'MicRecord' Music' and 'Playlists' directories on the ROOT of the player. re-copy your music into the MUSIC directory.
You cannot go into "My Computer" and open up the Nano drive and just drag and drop files to it. Itunes formats the files with different names as it puts them on the ipod. There are however, other pieces of software to use to sync the ipod with the music you have. A few of the more popular iTunes alternatives are Floola, WinAmp, gtkpod, Banshee, RhythmBox and Amarok.Good Luck. This is my first solution. Any thoughts?
When i connect my mp4, nothing pops up i have to go to my computers and then its under removable disk (f:). How do i put music into it if does not say anything about mp4 or music and where do i get my music from?
Go to my computer open the Philips icon till you get to the music file delete it. Unplug the player from the usb cable and then reattach it. It will then show a new music file and 5.7 space available. All of your music will be gone.........but it was gone anyway. Ideally you should go to Philips and download the HDD1630/17b software and firmware and print off the instructions and redo your player. I did and it works great!!!!!
