Question about RCA P52926 52" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

RCA P52960YX1 power supply dead - can I replace this myself?

I have a P52960 rear projection tv.  It stopped working.  It was diagnosed by a repair shop.  The power supply is dead.  If I ordered this part (quoted at $125) would I be able to replace it myself?  I have some experience repair equipment.  Shop quoted over $300 in labour to do the repair.  It's just not worth spending so  much.
Thanks very much.

Ok, Look, you can do this. Just take care when desolder any electronic part. ( position). mostly in capacitor ( - + location). You can buy a : power supply kit for ctc169 chassis. But maybe don't need replace all parts, just replace 2 small electrolytic capacitor 2.2uf 100v and 39uf 100v and ready...I hope this will help you. Thank you !!

No Power

What is the cassis number to your set. RCA has to be diagnosed by the chassis as they have used different chassis depending on manufacturer. Should be a PTK number located on the back of your set.

RCA Projection TV P52960

The clicking repeatedly is the relay clicking on and off due to the power button being pushed in. You are having problems with the start up circuit. Probably minor but you would need a service manual to actually diagnose the problem . Let me know if you would like me to post a link where you can get the service manual
