I would try checking the solder connections around the flyback first as that model has had some issues with solder as well, often that will solve the no start symptom, but check all components near the flyback for dull looking solder and resolder anything that isnt good shiny solder, as Cold solder joints appear as dulll grey.

As I think you know it does not have conventional convergence circuit and if it is the PTK 195 which is marked on rear label on set I can tell you what is likely bad.

Convergence kit


The model indicated does not use the conventional chips or a kit--look and see if on the back is a chassis number like ptk-195 etc.

Double check and confirm actual model number and I will assist.

Convergence problem can't be fixed with remote


Model indicated usually NEVER has convergence problems.

Look on back for "chassis" number, is it a PTK 195 chassis?

If it is I can tell you what is likely wrong and it is a do it yourself repair.

BEFORE YOU RATE THIS SOLUTION LET ME KNOW IF 195 CHASSIS.

This model does not use STK CHIPS. Look on back of set where model number is---what is PTK number---ie: PTK 169, OR PTK 195

That model was produced with different Chassis types. I would need the Chassis number usually a PTK or a CTC number to assist you with the most common cause of the set chriping which is usually due to the flyback and HOT transistor needing replacement.

Convergence problem


If the set is a ptk 195 chassis,check your menu in screens to see if the adj. projection tv is there,if not the convergence power supply is bad.
