Kodak m763 wont stay on

My digital camera all of the sudden won't stay on! It turns on and then immediately turns off. It has been dropped in the past, but always worked just fine. Nothing happened to it this time, it just started doing this out of the blue. I have figured out that it will stay on if it is in review mode and the lense doesn't come out. OTherwise, the lense pops out and then retracts back in and the the camera powers off.

I think you should take the battery out then hold the power button for ten seconds then put the fully charged battery back in if it doesnt work go back to the store and have them look it over.,

I saw this same problem, and was able to fix it completely. The issue is that the outer ring of the camera lens cannot spin all the way to deploy lens itself. For some reason, the camera turns itself off if the lens isn't positioned properly. To fix it, you want to manually turn the outer ring with your fingers to "help" the camera move the lens. Put it in a setting that uses the lens, and turn the camera on. Quickly hold the outer ring when it comes out and spin it to the left (or whichever way it is spins when you turn it on) until it doesn't turn anymore. The camera should stay on now.

If this was your problem, then you may have an issue with zooming now. I'm guessing the camera's lens motor isn't strong enough to turn the ring on its own, so get used to using your hand to turn the outer ring when zooming in and out. But after helping it zoom in and out for a while, it seems to slowly be able to work on its own. Try turning it on and zooming all the way in and all the way out again, without helping it. If there's a problem while zooming, the camera will turn itself off. Once it works on its own, it may make a little rattling sound when zooming, but that's better than no camera at all. Hope this helps guys, good luck!!

Kodak easyshare c1530 won't turn on after slighty dropped

Hello Doris, You can "GENTLY" try to push the lens slowly back into the camera with the palm of your hand, note I said gently and slowly, do not use force !!! Then turn on camera and see if this helped, if not it is repair time.

My Kodak M763 camera won't turn on, ( It is not the battery because I bought a new one)When I press the on button, It looks like is going to start, but it turns off again.

If the camera has recently been dropped you may have lens damage which is preventing it from powering up. If it hasn't been dropped, your problem may be due to corrosion on the battery contacts inside the camera which can prevent the full power of the batteries from flowing into the camera. Try this free fix before you do anything else: remove the batteries and wipe the camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sandpaper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and place them back in the camera. This cleaning clears the problem about 90% of the time. If it doesn't work for you, the camera may have a problem that requires professional repair.

If this response helps, please post a rating for me. A rating of "Very Helpful" would be appreciated . .

My kodak m763 lens wont open. and when i turn on the camera it says kodak easyshare and it turn back of

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera.
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Without the memory card, turn on your camera.
4. Pls test with an alt. batt.
If you do not have access to a dif. battery.
Pls. take the batt out of the camera. Insert the charger into the unit from the main socket and turn the camera on. If the camera works you will need to replace the batt. If not you will need to order a No power repair or new cable.

I have a Kodak M763. The camara don't want to turn on. Don't work

If you have recently dropped the camera you may have damaged the lens tube (housing). This damage will prevent the lens from moving properly and will cause the camera to shut itself off after a few seconds. If the lens is damaged the camera will require professional repair. If the lens is not damaged, the problem may be battery related. Make sure that you have the correct battery type installed, and that the batteries are fresh/fully charged. If the problem persists, you may have corrosion on the battery contacts inside that camera that is preventing full battery power from flowing to the camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the inside camera contacts firmly with a dry cloth (heavy corrosion may require cleaning with a wire brush, steel wool, or sand paper). Remove any residue that may have fallen into the battery compartment during cleaning, then wipe both ends of the batteries and reinstall them in the camera. This cleaning solves the problem about 90% of the time, and I hope it works for you.

Camera wont Turn On

Fixing your problem could be as simple as cleaning the battery contacts in the camera, or the solution could be a lot more complex and expensive. Here's a link to the Kodak Help Center - it provides a simple Q&A format to diagnose the problem and propose a solution.
