Any consumer grade pc mic will be fine, as long as the mic has a mini plug so it can plug into the pc's jack, don't get a mic with an xlr plug.

Can microphone be used with computer?

Yes, if it's similar to what is pictured above and your computer has a microphone input on it. As long as the computer has the input the most you would need to do is get an adapter for the microphone to get the plug to the correct size. Often times microphones have a 1/4" jack which looks like a larger version of what your standard ipod headphones has. The plug would need 1/8" to work on a standard computer. 1/8" is the size of the standard headphones. Adapters can be purchase from RadioShack for couple dollars.

Hope this was helpful

I have a Sennheiser E815S microphone and I want it to work on my PC( Compaq) what can I do to get it to work and sound coming out from it

The Sennheiser E815S is a dynamic microphone so should be fine to use with your computer, although the output level may not be very high.
The connection on the rear of the mic is a 3 pin (balanced xlr) but a standard microphone input on a pc is a 2 pin (mono) unbalanced 2.5mm jack socket. Mini jack plugs are a pain to solder and the thick balanced (sleeve plus 2 cores) cable is unlikely to fit inside the plug anyway so you would do better to buy a pre-made on than try to make your one (it would probably work out cheaper too).
Try to avoid using plug to plug adapters as they are prone to problems.
To use any microphone with your computer you will need to enable it in control panel. The following instructions are for Windows XP but are broadly similar for Vista and Win7
Click START, CONTROL PANEL, SOUNDS & AUDIO DEVICES
In the Sounds & Audio Devices Properties window locate the SOUND PLAYBACK box and click the VOLUME button. Make sure that there is not a tick (check-mark) in the MUTE box against microphone in the list of devices and that the volume slider is at the top of the scale.
Also make sure that the MUTE ALL box isn't checked before closing the window.
Now click the VOLUME button in the SOUND RECORDING BOX. Here you need to SELECT microphone as an input source for recording (as opposed to un-checking mute in the playback controls).
NOTE if microphone is not listed in the 2 sets of volume controls click OPTIONS, PROPERTIES on the tool-bar and place a check against microphone in the list entitled 'show the following volume controls' and then click OK.
That should be it.
However - if you cannot get enough volume on the microphone you may need to purchase a pre-amplifier to boost the signal strength before input to the computer.

Am trying to use skype on my works computer. The other person cant hear me. Where is the microphone???

I think you have to buy a computer microphone.I had one when I would talk on a different site. They are probably less than $10.They are also color coded to plug into the back of your computer.I don't think they are USB.Computers don't have a built in microphone I'm 99.9% sure about that. You can find them in almost any store that has computer accessories.Just look for them on the web at any particular store or call the store itself.Good luck! How can i connect this item to my computer

I don't know what kind of computer you have or what kind of software you plan on using but I know that they require a 48 volt phantom power supply. This means you will need a mixer with this feature or a separate preamp with this feature and at least two cables. One cable will be a good quality XLR balanced microphone cable from the microphone to the corresponding input on the mixer or preamp and another cable that will match the out put jack on the cable or preamp (on one end) and the input to your sound card on the other end. You should consult the music store or electronics place where you purchased them for details. You will need software to record and to save you some money I would recommend Audacity. It is a freeware program for Windows and Mac. Their website is here:http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ I hope this helped.
