Ge WES1450DM1BB serial RM913001U mirowave will not heat

My 6 month old GE WES series microwave kept giving me a sensor error, then stopped heating. It then started working again, enough to bake three potatoes, then heat up the outside of the microwave, the interior of the microwave, and produce two really hot, uncooked potatoes. We don't dare use it again.

GE Customer Service is here. I would contact them.

No parts are available for this model besides the turntable parts. Scary...

I'm sure the magnetron overheated and tripped the magnetron's thermal cutout.

I'd strongly suggest taking it back if you can.

GE profile mirowave JVM1350WW002. Handle broken

Normally you have to separate the door panels (as shown in the attached photo) and then you'll see the screws you need to remove.

Or you can watch a YouTube video (not a video I made) here that demonstrates how it's done.

You can find handy exploded views and order parts by model number here.

Microwave not heating

OK, if everything, including the fan, is working, this will confirm Magnetron failuer. you cannot reset the function of a failed Magnetron heating unit. replace this failed device asap if possible.
