Gateway 6860 fx problem with usb drivers

When i boot up my computer i get an error message telling me to restart the camera or restart my computer. this is not the big issue the big issue is that none of my usb drives work. they have an error message reading somewhere along the lines of there was a error when trying to run the software for them. ive tried checking for a solution in the device manager and updating the drivers, none of which have done anything. i havent even had this laptop a month. please help.
