No sound on YouTube videosIf you don't hear sound on YouTube videos, please try the following steps:
  1. Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers.
  2. Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube Video Player.
  3. Restart your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
  4. Ensure that the volume is turned up on other video players, such as Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player, as this might affect the video player sound.
If you still have no sound after trying the steps above, you may want to try the steps below:
  1. Install the latest version of Adobe Flash (necessary for streaming YouTube videos) after removing any old versions you've installed. Learn how to install the most recent version of Adobe Flash player.
  2. Allow third-party Flash content on your computer by visiting the Adobe Flash Global Storage Settings Panel and following the instructions. Once this is complete, close all browser windows and try re-playing the Live Event.
Please be advised that this action stores a Flash cookie on your computer. Flash enables this by default upon install.
  3. Check your Antivirus and Firewall software to see if you're blocking third-party Flash content.

Can you get on the internet with this? Like facebook or email?

No, it's just a media player which you can use for viewing videos, pictures, listening to music etc. This cannot be used for connecting to internet as it has no built-in antenna or something like that which allows a network streaming.Hope you are satisfied with my solution. Thanks for choosing Fixya.

Whtas adobe

I'm assuming you are asking what's adobe media flash player...
adobe media flash player is a free add-on (sofware that works with other sofware, usually a browser, like internet explorer, chrome, firefox. etc) that allows video and interactive content to be accessible through the specific browser the add on is installed on. for instance, it allows you to watch videos in youtube or see interactive content or video.

hope that helps

I've got crative inspire t7900 not workin

You can hear music and sound when you test your audio and also the Windows startup and shutdown even sounds. But you can't hear any music when you play it in Windows Media Player or the videos on youtube because Windows Media Player needs some codecs installed and you don't have those installed.

You can download and install this Media Player codec pack from Microsoft.

Hope that helps,

I only get sound when using windows media player, no video, help please?

The problem is definitely the codecs you have installed.

Try a player that does not need codecs to be installed (has codecs packed inside its core) like KMPlayer, VLCPlayer, mPlayer etc.

If these players work then I suggest you stick with them, they are way better than Windows Media Player.

Still if they work and you love Windows Media Player then I suggest to uninstall the codecs pack you installer (ACE / K-Lite / etc) and reinstall the latest version of K-Lite codecs (my personal recommendation; still, I go with KMPlayer and need no codecs installed).

If none of the above codec-less players work then you have an overlay problem (while playing a video the player defines a color that will be used by the player itself as the canvas for drawing the movie directly). TRY REINSTALLING YOUR VIDEO CARD DRIVER, this might help if nothing from above works.

Horizontal lines in avi/divx files lenovo t61

Sounds like video codecs problem.

There are to ways to go:
1. (The better in my opinion): forget Winamp and Windows media player, and use Smplayer instead, which uses it's own codecs (and better in all possible ways). You can download it from here.

2. If you'd like to stick with Winamp or Media player, then uninstall any video codecs (not drivers!) from your computer (if there's any), then download and install a proper codec pack, for example: K-lite codecpack (basic is enough) from here.

Hope this helps.
