After installing a new memory card that was to hold up to 1,000 images & new batteries, my Nikon coolpix 5700 shows there is "no memory".
Help!
Thanks,
Erin

Using my 5 year old card has recently resulted in a "no memory" message. So, thinking that something was wrong with this card, I have just yesterday purchased a new 4 GB card and installed it.
I'm now getting messages saying "no memory", and "warning this cf card cannot be read". After working with it, I can take and record photos on the card, but it is intermittent, and these messages continue to come up.
I'd like to understand the problem and know how to fix it.

I had the same problem today. Support started to ask me how much I would like to spend on a new camera. When I said I was not interested in a new camera, just a better memory car, they said the 5700 would not handle a better card and again that I should buy a new camera. I told them if this was the case I might buy a new camera but it would not be a nikon.
