Question about Dell Dimension 9200 PC Desktop

2 Answers

It "Chirps" From time to time, my 9200 will, well, chirp or beep. Sometimes it'll be about 40F in the house in the morning, first boot, it'll load up into windows and BEEP or CHIRP at me once in a great while. Other times, like tonight, it'll do it fairly constantly. Still other days, it'll do absolutely nothing out of the ordinary at all. All I can localise it down to is the front 1/3 of the case. Otherwise, the system runs like a champ, like it did a year and a half ago when I bought it.

I have exactly the same problem.  A short "Chirp" (less then a second) and then hours noting, and then again.  I've had this issue for more than a year now.  The PC runs very well and I'm 99,99% sure I'm Virus-free.
It's not mechanically from the fan, I'm positively sure of that.

Great if you could help !!!

I do not know how old your Dell is but fans will cherp, eventually they will squeak and if not changed will stop being a fan and cause damage due to over heat of chips. Check your power supply fan, some times they run slow if they are going, also the CPU fan needs to turn all the time. Pull the side cover off and what the main chip fan (CPU fan) see if it runs on start up it should and also some boards such as video boards have fans on the chips. I would suspect a random chip is a fan. Not expensive to replace fans, Very expensive to replace boards or CPU..

My computer chirps and doesn't start up when I turn it on. If I take the battery out and put it back in, sometimes several times it will startup normal. What could be wrong?

The "chirps" can indicate the nature of the problem. How many chirps? Is there a pattern? You can also tell more by running the builtin diagnostics. This explains troubleshooting steps and section 4 covers running the diagnostics.

No chirp when arming vehicle

Either your siren is broken, not properly grounded, the system is in valet or, the chirps were deleted. To add chirps, turn the key on then off, immediately press and release the valet switch three times. If the chirps were off you will hear one chirp from the siren.

You can delete the chirp from the unit: turn the ignition on, then off, press and release the programming switch three (3) times. You should hear two chirps. You should hear no sound from the unit now when commands are sent. You can put the chirps back in the same manner.

AUDIOVOX CAR APS787N ADVANCED REMOTE START DOES NOT FUNCTION EVEN AFTER EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED PROPERLY.

If everthing is properly connected and the system does function, you may need to program the remotes. But first, let's check a couple of things. Turn the ignition on and press and release the push button LED three times and check for a response. The alarm should chirp one time. If the alarm chirps one time, press and release the lock button on the remote. If the alarm responds with a long chirp, press and release the push button LED one time, should hear two chirps; press and release the unlock button on the remote. The alarm should respond with a long chirp. Press and release the push button LED one time, you should hear three chirps, press and release the green button. You should hear a long chirp from the alarm. Press and release the push button LED one time, you should hear four chirps from the alarm; press and release the (1)button on the remote. continue the process for button(2).Now, if you do not hear the one chirp in the beginning, the system is not responding. Check your power and ground connections. If the system does chirp but, no response from the remote, check your antenna cable for proper connection at the module and the antenna. If the connections are fine, check the remote. Also,it is possible that there is major RF interference where you are located. If all of the above check out, try moving the vehicle to a different location and test.

Audi a4 turbo chirps when car is started

Could be the belt(s).

If not that, could be a loose hose coming from the turbo. If it build boost and the hose is loose, it'll chirp. At least, it would on my turbo bike. Sounded like a balloon releasing air when the neck is pinched.
