Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-LS2 Digital Camera

Bought 8gb memory card - error message

I bought an 8.0gb memory card for my lumix dmc-ls2. When I put it in my camera it just says "memory card error please check the card".

I have lost my manual so not sure if memory card is too big or do I need to format the card or something?

Please help.

Thanks

Hi, I suspect that the SD card is to big for that camera as that camera is a lower end camera. You should try the SD card in a camera that is known to be able to handle such a huge card.

What is the largest memory card I can use with this camera panasonic DMC-FX9? Is 8GB too large, because this 8GB is give me memory card error. pls what can i do???

This a camera with some years, be aware of that - that camera comes with an 16Mb card...

Try to format the card on the camera;
Also, some brands or models are incompatible - try to use other card and/or other capacity;
Always format the card on your camera.
Hope that helps, good luck.

I have a panasonic lumix DMC-FZ20 camera that i installed an 8g memory card but it says memory card error

The DMC-FZ20 works with MMC and SD cards, 2GB or smaller. Your 8GB card is an SDHC card, which fits into the slot but is electronically incompatible.

I have a Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7. The problem is it doesn't read the memory card anymore. It keeps saying, "Memory card error. Please check the card." is there a quick fix to this or is this...

Ok, came accross this problem. After searching and searching, I downloaded the user guide ( who knew?! ) and the reason that is happening is because the Lumix DMC-FZ7 is not able to process an SD card bigger than 2 GB.

I switched it to a 1 GB and camera is back working!!

I hope this helps

When i insert my 4Gig SDHC card into my Panasonic DMC LS2 camera , it gives a card error message , please check SD card ! What do i do ?

Your camera will accept a maximum SD card capacity of 2GB. It simply isn't capable of handling anything of a larger capacity and in particular is incompatible with the more technically advanced SDHC cards.

Your fix is to either replace your camera with a later model or to stick to using SD cards with a maximum 2GB capacity.

Were these cards from another camera and now you want to start using them in the Lumix? If so, you must format the card in the Lumix to get it to work. This will erase the card so download any pics first.

Should you use an 8gb sd memory card in a panasonic lumix dmc-fx3 camera ?

Hi,

The manual lists the following SD cards compatible:

4 GB SDHC Memory Card
2 GB SD Memory Card
1 GB SD Memory Card
512 MB SD Memory Card
256 MB SD Memory Card
128 MB SD Memory Card
64 MB SD Memory Card

An 8GB card may or may not work. If you try it, make sure it is an SDHC card. (Note: HC=High Capacity)

Thanks for using Fixya.
