My Toshiba 53H71 rear projection TV's picture looks like double vision with a heavy tint outline how can I fix this???

Hi,
Double vision/ picture problem occurs due to failure of convergence output ICs in rear projection tv and it is common problem of projection tvs.
Please replace convergence output ICs in tv to solve the issue, there is convergence repair kit available for $70 on This Site that has required parts/ ICs, instructions about how to replace ICs etc for a handy person.
Hope these info will help.
Thanks.

My Toshiba rear projection TV -43hx71 is periodically turning itself off and on while we are watching a program. What could this be?

Hi,
When tv shuts down for some reason, does it turn on again itself or you need to press power button to turn it On?
Let me know how old is this tv and any other related info that you think might be helpful to diagnose problem.
Thanks.

Issue with our Toshiba 50H82 - overnight it has stopped playing DVD's properly - a solid black rectangle obliterates 75% of the screen. Any idea?

Hi,
Do you see same solid black box in all inputs or just in dvd picture?
If solid box appears only with dvd picture then its generated by dvd player, check dvd player Menu and turn off any subtitle settings.
And if solid black rectangular appears in all inputs of TV like cable etc then check Close Caption feature in TV and turn off CC function.
Hope this will solve your TV problem.
Thanks.

Toshiba 43" Rear Projection tv (Just show's Blue Screen)

Hi Chris,
It sounds like you have a tuner problem. Usally the set will turn blue if there is no signal to the set, which is first generated from the tuner. It could also be the processor on the main board, but I would look at the tuner first.
Good luck and I hope this has helped

Wavy lines

This TV uses small voltage regulators. On each side of the regulators is the input voltage and the regulated output voltage on the other side. There are capacitors used for stabilization on the input and output. Change these capacitors.
