Use the blue/white wire to turn your amplifier on. the blue wire is antenna remote turn on, the blue/white is amplifier remote turn on. when the radio is not in tuner mode the blue wire turns off.

For the stereo the following will work.
It sounds like it could be the sound chip. If your fm/am radio is playing sound then the internal amp is fine however CD/AUX functions use a separate sound chip. Have you wired it to an external amplifier?
No, it uses the same source.
Have you checked which band you are selecting? It has 3 FM bands, LW and MW, right?
It may not be a relay, but an untuned station.
I have the same head unit and disconnected from the battery.
There was no input code required when reconnecting the battery

i resolved this myself in the end. I unplugged the audio & power cables whilst the stereo and engine was running. Then plugged back in. I turned the engine off and stereo off as well. I then unplugged audio and power again from the back of the CDX, left it unplugged for 10 minutes whilst the engine was still off. I then plugged the leads back in and turned the engine on. the stereo recognised the CDX, but stayed on displaying "CD Checking". I switched to radio for 20 seconds, turned back to CDX and it selected CD 1 and has been good ever since.
Sound like you need the manual to this radio, I would have said that there are components inside that go bad that will cause a radio not to light up in the display area. But if you radio is saying tuner, and maybe cd then it would be the selector button that has a problem. Or no antenna is hooked up or come apart.
