Question about Canon Powershot SD450 / IXUS 55 Digital Camera
Place a thick bath towel (triple folded) on the table edge. with the camera off, hold it in your hand and tap the bottom of the camera with medium low force to the above mentioned table edge. Try turn it on to check if it's back to normal. You may need to tap it more then one time, if it doesn't work, with stronger impact force. Just be sensible, not too hard though.
In case you have doubt with this trick to fix, try google 'Canon E18' to find related problem being fixed by others with this method.
