My softwar disc lost and i want mfc-290c fext weth may computer

Is this error shown on the computer screen or the mfc 290?
it doesnt look like a brother hardware error code. it looks more like a software crash error code.

try uninstalling all brother software, restarting your PC and reinstalling your brother printer drivers and software. (from original disc if you still have it)

If you still have problems you will most likely have to take both your computer and printer into a computer store for service.

The newest driver is probably the best... Make sure you uninstall the existing software before installing this software.

Brother MFC 290C Driver Download

The Windows 7 Driver will work for previous versions of windows.

Go to http://www.brother-usa.com/lp/windows7compatibility.aspx, look on the ride side a little ways down on the site and look where it says MFC models in purple. Look down for the 290C Model and click download.
Install the driver, restart your printer and you should be good to go!

In both cases you need to select first your operating system (windows 7, vista, xp, etc) and that the language. After that you press on Search and then, in the opened web page, you press on Download and Information.
