CCD-TRV138 is analog camera and you can not attach directly with PC. You need MPEG Card or something in PC to digitize the analog audio-video signal. That card will give you input connections for camera.

LawMate PV-AC30 manual

To set the time / date stamp you'll need your remote control and you'll need to hook it to a TV with AV inputs. Be sure to correctly select the AV input the camera is plugged into. This is the most overlooked step that causes a lot of users frustration.

I've attached a YouTube video on how to accomplish the time/date setting.

No luck hooking video camera up to TV - no picture

have u checked to see if the camera is PAL or NTSC? If your TV is one and the camera is the Other, then chances are you will not get a picture.

Sony CCD-TRV438E Hi-8 Analog Camcorder i need driver to connect with my pc

You need to buy a TV card which comes with audio /video composite sockets. these are female RCA or phono sockets which are also found on your camera.TV cards come with their own software to be able to capture pictures from your Hi 8 Camcorder using the av cables like the ones you use from your DVD to your TV set. There are other cards which carry the av sockets and come with video capture software. These cards are usually PCI cards which are fitted into your PCI slot in your PC motherboard. One other software that comes with such a card is Pinnacle Studio. Its called the Pinnacle AV/DV pci capture card. The one I use is just a DC 10 which works with Studios version 8. Please try any of these cards for your video capture

You need RCA pins AV cable and if your video player has scart input then get scart adapter so AV cable plug in scart adapter and it will be hooked in video player.
All these info are mentioned in user manual of camcorder. Click Sony Support to download free copy of user manual and check page-7 and items 6 and 8 that needs to connect camcorder with video player.

Can not find software to run my ccd-TRV138 camcorder on windows 7.can i be helped?

Hi,
Sony CCD-TRV138 is analog video-8 camcorder that can not be hooked directly with computer because computer needs digital data file where as this camcorder is an analog and has no digital file format.

If you want to transfer CCD-TRV138 movies in computer, you need to convert its analog Audio-Video signal into digital format then save it in computer for further process/ edit etc.

Hook CCD-TRV138 with DVD Recorder in AV Input and burn a DVD, this process will convert analog movie into digital data format, put that CD in your computer and copy-paste files in computer.
Hope this info will help you.
Thanks.

Copying home made video from sony Hi8 tapes to Sony DV mini tapes

Sony DCR-HC21 has a multi-AV in, your Hi-8 should have a mini (4 band) to multi AV out. The cable would look like a stereo headphone cable on one end with thre RDA type plugs on the other end; red, white, yellow. The mulit in on the DV would probabaly be the same type connector. Youd have to use a coupler set for the two multi-av cables to bridge video to video and audio to audio. Come out of the Hi8 into the miniDV recorder. You should not need a Dazzle unless you want to transfer to a PC for editing before moving video back to a miniDV tape.

And I have a project due tomorrow!!!

I would suspect either the cable connecting the camera and TV or the TV itself. What type of TV are you plugging into and what type of inputs are you connecting to?
