Question about Akai LCT3201AD 32 in. LCD Television

1 Answer

Panel buttons and remote controls are both erratic

When malfunctioning, pressing any function such as volume, channel change etc. causes to go to basic blue screen showing the basic mode. Suspected heated related. Put out with hot sun on back of TV and controls begin to function after a while. LCT3201AD TV is 6 months old.

I read about power supply problems but this sounds limited to something else that decodes control commands. If this problem is in a module board, I can probably change it out but I have only a VOM for testing and no service manual. I have not disassembled the TV.

Problem seems in panel board having bad switches. You probably need to replace the (control) panle board. Check out this Weblink having info for Akai TV parts.

Volume keeps turning itself up philips lcd tv

this is due to surface mount capacitors going faulty on the side buttons panel. You can simply disconnect the cable from this board and use you remote to control the channels and volume. if you want it fixed you will have to replace the side button control panel which is a cheap part.

Sometimes, if certain remote control keys are used over and over again the rubber on the bottom of the buttons wears off onto the inside contacts, breaking the electrical connection. This is common on power and channel keys, especially. If you can get the remote opened up, you can clean the contacts with a cloth and it might help. Otherwise, it may be worth buying a universal remote. Good luck! Der Strom

I have an shd-3010 with the remote and the channel button doesn't work nor do the buttons to change the station on the remote. Yet the power button works as does the volume buttons

Here is the solution. I have had this problem for 2 or 3 YEARS... (I finally gave up and just changed the channel manually).

The solution is exceedingly simple. You'll want to punch yourself (or at least, I did... :-P )

Press Menu. Press Menu. Press Menu (3 times total)
THEN, scroll down to "Channel Fix"

It will say either "3" or "4." What this does is it makes it so that your HDTV is always on channel 3 (or 4) when you turn on the device... AND it apparently disables the channel functions of the remote control, for some inexplicable reason.

All you have to do is change this setting from "3" or "4" to --> "OFF"

You will now have full channel and button control.

Enjoy! <(^_^<)(^'.'^)(>^_^)>

Mintex 37 inch wide screen. remote is working however cannot change channel, input source or volum. only turns tv off. The buttone on tv doesnot work connot change input source or volume

Check if the remote is in TV position, that is, because most of the remote controllers have the feature that you can program them for use with another devices. Make shure that one button that says "TV" in pressed and released once before you try to change any function on the TV.

Channels keep changing

Make sure there is no other remote control working simultaneously or with a key pressed constantly by mistake. In my case i found the air conditioning remote control with one key being pressed by my furniture next to my bed, it was causing that erratic behavior. As soon i realized, i stopped that remote control and problem solved. I hope this works.
