Fed several pages at one time through the machine. Since then message says, 'paper jam'. Problem is that there is no paper or bits anywhere. Info from Lexmark didn't cure. On switch on, motors churning around for quite a long time, and then we get 'Paper jam' all over again. Any idea?

Pick up the printer with both hands, hold it shut, turn it up side down, and shake violently in every direction until something falls out (which it will!!!).

Lexmark x1240 printer jam pulls to the right

Leading cause of paper jams is debris/foreign objects that accidentally fell into the paper feed area. Please follow steps below to fix the problem:

  1. Remove the sheets of paper from the feeder.
  2. Grab a flashlight and look inside the feeder for any debris or foreign objects.
  3. If you're willing and physically able, you may also turn the printer over. Any debris should just freely roll out from the feeder.
  4. If feeder is clear, place the printer back on the table, open the printer cover and remove the cartridges.
  5. Check the cartridge area for any obstructions/debris in the cartridge carrier's path or the paper path.
  6. If cartridge area is clear, close the cover.
  7. Rebrick (pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds).
  8. When the printer turns on, reinsert the cartridges and load some paper. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

LEXMARK X7550 JAMS &MISFEEDS TROUBLESHOOTING

How to clear and avoid paper jams: To clear the paper path: 1 Pull firmly on the paper to remove it. If you cannot reach the paper because it is too far into the printer, lift the scanner unit to open the printer. 2 Pull the paper out. 3 Close the scanner unit. 4 Press check. 5 Reprint any missing pages. To avoid paper jams, do not force paper into the printer.
The Lexmark X7500 Series User's Guide will be able to give you more detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot paper jams and misfeeds on your printer. You can download the user's guide from the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/mdAcJO and go to page 177.

Lexmark E342n. The paper jams after it prints and before ejecting. Paper is not wringled when pulled out. I open the back door and the end is there. It is like it is using shorter paper then letter.

Power off the printer, check the entire paper path of the printer for any jammed sheets of paper or other obstructions. Remove any obstructions you find and try printing again. Check if the page setting may be incorrect or paper size and the paper size settings do not match and make sure that the paper size in the printer driver settings matches the paper in the tray.

Printer 2480- my printer is pulling paper only on right side

Try this :

1. Turn the printer off and open the access cover.
2. Look for any obstructions in the paper path and remove them if necessary. (It is possible to move the carrier assembly with the power off.)
3. Turn the printer on, load some paper, and press the Form Feed button. (On the X83, press the Select button.)
4. Watch the paper as it feeds through and try to determine where the jam is occurring.
5. Check to see if all the rollers are turning.

If all the rollers are turning, there may be something in the feed path that you can't see. Go to step 6.
If not, there is probably a feed motor or a gear problem and the printer may require service.
6. If the paper is jamming under the carrier assembly, you may be able to fix it using the manual feed slot.
7. Turn the printer off.
8. Take a #10 envelope and feed it through the left side of the manual feed slot until it comes right through the printer to the back of the exit rollers.
9. Move it up and down first, and then slowly move it over to the right side. If something is stuck under the black guide plate, this may work it loose.
