How long do batterys last. Haven't used my player in almost 2 yrs now battery will not charge.

-Battery is too old. All charge able battery last only 2-3 year or maybe even less than that depend on how you use.
-If just a little low and keep charging then it life is short.
-If let it fully empty (dead) before charge the it last longer.

Do you live in a cold climate ? Cold climates will reduce battery shelf life quite a bit and 2 years without use is deffently long enough for it to loose charge. I would try a recharge and see where it stands if charged use it see howlong it will last under load. if it dont work call canadian tire and see if you can get a battery inspection at there garage in know where i live they do them for free. It is unlikely that the capacitor will have any charge on it so you should shake it gently to charge it up. You certainly can't do any harm by charging it, even if the capacitor did have any charge.

If you let the battery get too low, the battery will not charge because the motherboard does not have enough power to control the charge process. There are two ways to fix this. 1) buy a new battery that will be supplied fully charged. 2) borrow a friends HDD065, fully recharge the battery and remove it. Place the battery in your player and turn it on. Put your player on charge. Without turning your player off or removing the charger, remove your friends battery and place yours in it. It may take a couple of attempts but you should be able replace your battery and keep the player operational. Leave your battery to fully charge.

Basically you need a new battery. Recharageable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cycles and they lose their full charge capacity as the get older. The batteries will have less capacity over time ie less available battery time, and when it is worn out, it won't charge at all.

                 U are saying that u have bought this mobile 2 yrs back so check wither ur battery has been expired and change it.Otherwise switch off ur mobile and put it in charge and check it out the normal standby for any mobile is 2 to 3 hrs.Kindly check it and revert back

I would suspect the batteries

Ive got an eos Rebel think its just over 4 years old
for the last year its been used every weekend for several hours 300+ pics per weekend between 2 nights I found that recently where one battery would last a night the battery was running out midway through & also taking longer to charge afterwards

2 after market replacements cost me about £10 and things are back to normal

5 years is a pretty good lifespan for a battery so its probably just getting old

look on the battery , you sould see a 3 digit code. EG if you see a code like 458 . this means week 45 ,2008 or if it is 123. this means week 12 at 2003. The motorola batteries last up to 2 yrs. if it older than 2 years old , replaced the battery

1. totally discharge the battery so it wont come on.

2. Charge the battery fully

3. Reset the player

Now check how long the battery lasts. If it is still 2 hours there is a problem with the battey and you will need to return the player.
