I believe the Roadster uses the 2892 movement and as such should wind in either direction. Find a competent watchmaker and ask him/her to check the automatic winding mechanism for proper rotation. I am assuming this is a real Cartier.
I have looked at their site and they do not list instruction manuals but they do give a "contact us" link and they should be able to supply the manual you need.
Pull the crown of the analog/date Cartier watch and rotate it clockwise or counterclockwise until you see the date advance in the display window at about 1 a.m.

Use the quick date set method by rotating the crown counterclockwise after reaching 1 a.m. until the hands reach 7:30 p.m. Then again rotate the crown clockwise back to 1 a.m. Repeat the procedure until the correct date is displayed.

Adjust the date forward or backward 12 hours if your Cartier watch changes the date at the noon hour.
