    Hi Friends,

I bought Kingston 8 GB Pen Drive last week. It started acting wiered with me. I tried to fill my pen drive completely 8 GB it worked so slow. I was not able to figure it out why and how i thought that it might attacked by some viruses, Spyware or Malware. I tried scanning but no go then i tried formating still no go then i thought that might be my operating system is gone bad. I formated it but still no go. Then i thought i should try it on some other Laptop i tried one of my friends Dell Laptop but i was working in same manner im really puzzled either my pen drive is gone bad or what?

Then i tried searching Virus from my pen drive.

    run>cmd>dir /w/a.

But still it was not working when i try copying the data from pen drive to my harddrive it copies but when i try to open it. It do not opens at all it shows "The file is curropted or not copied properly from the destination".

    I'm feeling really helpless.

If someone can please do post you comment to me. You are always welcome.

Try another USB port or another computer altogether. For some reason there are some drives that some computers see and others that they dont.

Hope this helps

Windows 8 x64 doesn0t show usb flash drive in windows explorer

It will only show USB devices that have been formatted. Have you tried going into the Computer Management, Disk Management to see if the usb drive is recognized? Can another windows PC recognize the USB drive?

My computer is not recognizing my 4gb Cruzer, after an architect copied some files to it. How can I access it?

First, let me say that sometimes my PCs, even newer ones, want to start slow with my own 4GB Cruzer attached, and I have to unplug it and wait 'til Windows starts... Secondly, since you say your PC isn't recognizing it AFTER an architect copied files to it, I would think that perhaps the architect is using some security software to lock the device. Some USB devices have built-in security--some even have a tiny little physical lock on the side to prevent accidental erasure and protect them as well. If your architect formatted it at any time to put the file on it, I'd say look at security features being employed to protect it. Of all the arts, engineering and architecture are two of the biggest fields where copyright and design is a commonly protected thing, and there's a chance he/she even forgot his PC did this to any software copied to USB flash devices connected to it.
If his file(s) were created in Linux, or another OS, there's also a chance he formatted the flash drive to make it recognized by his own OS. Hope not--he should know it probably wasn't necessary , as Linux-based OS's also 'see' Windows-style file structures, like NTFS.
Hope this helps.

Try the usb drive on another pc to see if it is dead. If the usb drive works on another pc, reply to me and I can help more. If the usb drive does not respond on another pc, it may be dead.

Please reply with test results, and I can help more.

Just got a kingston 4gb memory card but it is not recognized by camera or computer can it be fixed?

With regards to your problem with Kingston 4Gb memory card, I am happy to share to you the following diagnosis:
  1. Make sure that your memory card is not damage. Upon buying you need to test it;
  2. Maybe the memory card is not properly formatted as NTFS or FAT32 depending on the machines' specifications but usually this particular storage device must be formatted into FAT32; or
  3. It happens that your PC and camera couldn't recognize the card because maybe the card reader of both gadget were damage and definitely will require to buy a new one.

Plug into USB port... recognizes device when I click on it from my computer tells me to format the drive... I try but the format fails.?

Is your usb drive locked? The micro vault classic has a lock switch on it. This prevents you from writing data to it. Please make sure that is not in the lock position. Then plug it back into your pc and you can go ahead and format it.

If you want to format the memory card, then please connect it to your PC. After your mp4 is recognized by your PC, you can manually format it.
