Try hard resetting;

NOTE:
Some TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.

it is caused by failure of the YSUS board. Now this board is not
available by itself as LG have released a repair kit for this series of
plasma which contains the YSUS, ZSUS and CONTROL boards. It is safer to
replace all 3 boards as sometimes the other 2 boards are damaged when
    the YSUS fails.
These kits are available from Statewide Appliances PH: 1800 005 220
    Part Number is: 6871VSNB03

I have an LG RU-42PX11 plasma tv. A couple weeks ago we heard a pop and the picture went blank. I can still change channels via cable box and I have sound but no picture.

These are the part numbers for all the boards that deal with the display. Im leaning towards the sustains as well and you need to do both at the same time cause if one is bad and you replace just one, a bad one can fry the new one.

LG PDP42X3 No Picture - I have sound and blue power button in front but no picture. How do I tell if the ceramic fuse is blown? They are all still pure white. If they are not blown, does that help with...

This condition, sound no picture, is generally a result from a failed y-sustain and/or x-sustain board. You can check the fuse for continuity or resistance using a multimeter. I am helping someone repair their LG 42pc3d, that's why I thought I'd help you out too.

Black haze covering picture after "pop" noise

That's a very old model to be only 1 year old?

It needs a Z-Sustain PCB anyway.

Thanks.

50 inch Sanyo Vizon Plasma TV. Has sound but no picture for last few days. 2 years old

This set has LG insides, it will have failed on either the Y-Sustain PCB or the Z-Sustain PCB.

Quite common.

Repair estimates should be $250 - £350 depending on which has failed.

Stick it on eBay, it will fetch good money faulty.

Any info on picture problems with LG 50PX1D-UC Plasma? The picture is slighly fuzzy and seems to pulse in brightness

Your TV is going to need a Z-Sustain PCB.

The Z-Sustain controls the contrast of the image, it is also a common part to fail.

LG HDTV...Have sound, but no picture!

I do not think you need a Y-Sus, you need a Control PCB.

6871QCH060Q.

The Y-Sustain part number you have given does not match the one in your TV, close, but nope.

6871QYH030C is the Y-Sustain number.

Your set needs a control PCB. It is a common Fault.

If you are in the USA, eBay, www.shopjimmy.com

If you're in the UK, then www.fixmyplasma.co.uk, charles Hyde, SEME Nedis.

Not cheap though.

I have an LG 42 PC 5D it just shut off on me last night and won't turn on today. The green on button comes on then the red comes on right after it. what could be the problem.

Most likely the Y-Sustain PCB.

6871QYH051P if it's a 42X2 PDP Module
6871QYH053B if it's a 42X3 PDP Module

It depends on when it was made as to which is fitted.

I'd bet the fuse(s) are blown on it, signifying it has failed.

They are about £200 New from Charles Hyde. www.chsinteractive.co.uk

I HAVE A LG 50PXD1 MODEL AND I have picture and sound, but the picture is very dim. I can still use it but have to close all the blinds to see the screen. any ideas?

Hello,

A dark picture is commonly caused by a failed Z-Sustain PCB. This is the most likely.

It could however also be the Y-Sustain, however it is rare to still get an image at all.
