if printer is working, printing but no scanes detecting, change usb cable and usb port on pc. If you can see your scaner in control panel scaner and imaging devices, so scan with adob photoshop, import from - your scanner.

Try changing your usb printer cable with a different brand. I have had lost of machine not wanting to scan because of faulty usb cables, even though you can print it refuses to scan. If this still is not helpful, try downloading the latest drivers from samsungs website.
Hi I had the same problem, at first I thought that it was the original drivers (the ones I got with the printer) so I donwloaded the drivers from the canon website, this did not resolve the problem. What I also tried and it worked for me was connecting the printer to the computer with it's original usb cable. I bought a couple of weekes ago a usb extension cable (about 5 m long). With this extension cable I can print but I can't scan any document, it just gives me the same error. Hope this works also for you. Bye PS: My printer is a Canon Pixma MP190
