Greetings,

If it's brand new, have it exchanged.

Else, you need to have it replaced or if you can disassemble it, call the manufacturer to get the exact part number.

How much screen 4 lxus30 canon

Ebay.com is the best place to look for. If you buy the LCD itself it is usually expensive. For example, Try the following email. They replace the LCD: hu221221@gmail.com

But I would suggest you to buy a used camera (one sold for parts, with good LCd) through ebay.com and replace it yourself. You only need to buy a jewellers screwdriver set for $1 from Dollar store. Removing the case is easy (5-6 screws). Once the case is removed, LCD is immediately accessible.

You can buy any one of the cameras:
Canon IXUS 30 40 50 SD200 SD300 SD400

They all use the same LCD. So look in ebay.com for the above cameras. You may be able to get it for under $10-15. But before you do anything look at the following web sites to get an idea on how to do the job:

I have a Canon Ixus 40 and the screen does not work now can it be fixed for a reasonable cost.

Depends on whether or not the camera can take a picture OK.
If no picture, you may wish to replace the camera.
If it takes a good picture, the LCD ranges from $40 - $120 and labour to change it. Contact Canon for a good service center.

It seems that the LCD screen is cracked. You can find replacement screens for CANON cameras here:

Canon ixus i7. LCD screen is cracked, and thus does not sdisplay any image, however the camera still zooms, takes pictures, etc Obviously now viewfinder so only way to see what your taking pic of is...

I know some canon LCDs can be replaced by the user. Canon will sell you the specific part or you can find them on ebay. The LCD ribbon cable can be easily pulled out and with a little fiddling a new one can be put in. I have not personally done it with at ixus i7. When I did it it cost like $45. Goodluck!

here are some photos of the process for a canon SD. I know the i7 might be a little different.

LCD ?? Screen

This can be repaired for $89.95 at darntoothysam.com. The IXUS 60 is the same as the "SD600" which I have linked to you. I wish you luck in getting your cracked LCD taken care of.

SD300 Monitor Problem

This sounds like a cracked LCD screen. If so, it requires replacement. There are many sites available on the web that will do this for you for a fee.

It is also possible to fix it yourself if you can find a replacement screen, and if you are familiar with basic electrical safety (there's a flash capacitor inside your camera that can give you such a ZAP!).

"Oily" spots burnt into LCD

Sounds like a cracked LCD. That happened to my S400, and it was pretty evident the glass screen had broken. I bought a new one and installed it myself at a cost of under $40. Having a shop do the repair will cost quite a bit more. If you think this is the problem, do a Google search on "canon s400 lcd screen repair" and you'll find some resources to walk you through the ordering and replacement process.
