When using the oven at, let's say 350 degrees, it will be cooking fine then sometimes the oven goes off, oven light included, then we have to shut everything off ,wait for 15-20 minutes for things to cool down, I guess, then turn the oven control back on. The light comes on and it starts to cook again. This problem does not occur all the time. Sometimes it will cook an entire roast, for example, with no problems. But when it does happen it's a real pain. Do we have a thermostat problem?

Hello & Welcome to FixYa

This indicates a open/shorted oven temperature sensor and to solve this problem the sensor needs replacement. If you wan to be sure before replacing the sensor then you can test it with a voltmeter for around 1100ohms....if it reads more then this then it needs replacement however, if the reading is around or less then 1100ohms then it is the control board that needs replacement. Please get back to me if you have any other questions.

What temperature should the TCO in my fan oven be. The maximum temperature of my fan oven is 250 degrees Fahrenheit

The temperature for the TCO in your fan oven should be set to the desired cooking temperature for your recipe. This will depend on the type of food you are cooking and the recipe you are following.

For example, if you are baking bread, a typical temperature would be between 350-450 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are roasting a chicken, a common temperature is 375-400 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are cooking a casserole, a good starting point is 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

It's important to follow the recipe or guidelines for the specific type of food you are cooking, as the correct temperature and cooking time will vary based on the ingredients and method

I recently ran the self-clean option on my GE Profile JK955B0F5BB. Now when I set the touch pad to 350 degrees or more, the oven heats up to beyond 500.

That is not a valid model number, the issue is most likely the thermostat has failed. The part is about 12 dollars.

Whirlpool gas oven is taking three times as long to cook something, what is wrong?

have you checked with an oven type thermometer for 350 degrees against the setting of 350 degrees,if its off very far then its the oven temp sensor in the upper left middle or right rear wall of the oven thats bad it looks like a small pencil type rod 2" to*' long it merely unplugs off the oven s control panel in the rear, you can test its resistance also to get an idea if it is your culprit, otherwise the oven element could have a hot spot in it and not letting all the current thru to properly heat the element,it will be dis-colored in that area

T3 electric wall oven - Temperature set buttons

I had the same problem. The entire control panel had to be replaced. That included the display, keypad and all the hardware behind it.. it's one integrated unit. Luckily I had the extended warranty, otherwise it would have cost close to $400.

Amana Convection oven not controlling temp

I have just checked the baking guide in the manual and have found that it may not be us after all. (Maybe this is why they telll us to read the whole manual. Well, I never have) According to the cooking time for Baking, the range is very extensive. For example, an angel cake at 350 could take from 28-50 minutes, buscuits at 375-400 could take 8-16 minutes, layer cakes at 350-375 could take 25-40 minutes, pound cakes at 325-350 could take 45-70 minutes and fresh pies at 400-450 could take 35-60 minutes. Basically, the baking directions on the box means absolutely nothing to use Amana oven owners. We have no choice but to cook our food or baked goods until they are cooked, whenever that may be. :) Linda

Gas oven not heating to temp

The fault is either the capillary has fallen away from back or it is a faulty thermostat.
