Just bought a house and moved in. I have plug the TV into the wall antenna socket and the TV comes up with the message 'weak or no signal' what could be the problem?

Hi, congratulation on your new house!

The problem is obviously from your antenna. The TV is not recieving any reception from the antenna and that is why it is displaying 'weak or no signal'.

Cross check your antenna connection and make sure the antenna wire is intact.

Also, most antenna's come with a booster. The booster makes reception from the antenna very strong and the TV would be clear.

Lastly, is this a new antenna or were you using it in your old house?

Please give me a feed back.

Yours sincerely.

Some channel no sound

Hello Blwas5 hi, If some channels have sound and others none, its either the TV has poor reception or, its the channel's weak signal. check them both or see if your neighbors TV acts like yours. If thy neighbor reception is good, then thy TV has poor reception, you can't do anything to fix that. get another TV with good reception qualities.

My LG Plasma TV has sound problems on certain channels-mainly one

Get in touch with your cable operator and measure the strength of signals being received via the Cable. It can be boosted by the cable operator from their end or attach a booster on your line...............sodeep

Poor picture and tv blacks out

Make sure you have the TV connected correctly. If you have a cable box or satellite receiver and are connecting using an RF connection to the TV's antenna jack, you need to be on the right channel (usually 3, maybe 4 depending on the box setting). If you are connecting using A/V cables be sure you don't have a bad cable and that you're connecting to the proper jacks. If you are trying to pick up digital broadcasts off-the-air, you might need to adjust your antenna or put up an outdoor one. Signal strength is very important to digital reception.

If none of this solves your problem you may just have a defective TV. If it is really so new it will be covered by the manufacturer's warranty, and may still be in the store's return period. Call for service or exchange it.

Plasma TV Reception

Bro the reception in that area of the house must be poor, as you've said. The walls in that area of the house must be too thick, or some part of the house is blocking the signal that the attena emits. You should consider getting an antenna that can be placed outside the house, like on the roof top. Make sure it isn't being blocked by anything, like trees with large branches or whatever.

Poor reception

It sounds like a problem with the tuner in the TV set. Hook up a VCR through the video inputs and hook the cable through the VCR and if the picture is still snowy, the problem is the cable. If the picture is clear, the problem is the tuner in the TV set. If you wanted, you could simply leave the VCR attached to the TV set and change cable channels through the VCR, or have the TV serviced. Good Luck

no they are not related. ur tv seems to have a defective tuner(inspect also for possible cold solder inside the tuner). remote control can be clean using a cotton swab with a little isoprophyl on it. clean the contact on the pcb.
