Question about LG Televison & Video
Initially try cleaning the lens using a CD ROM disc cleaner similar to those used in PC's CD ROM drives. They are normally and readily available from most computer shoppes. If the cleaning would not be corrective, pls try to manually clean by opening and use cotton buds to clean the laser/optics. it may also be worth your while to spray the insides with a can of compressed air to remove dust. Re-application of lubricant to the mechanical portion would also help.
If none of the above solves the problem, then chances are that the laser wiould require replacment. Considering the cost of repair and downtime, it might be more economical to purchase a new unit.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.
