Thank you for posting your problem in fixya. My name is Carlo.

I understand that you have a problem with your touchpad button. TouchPad is disabled sometimes for no apparent reasons. To reactivate, first you restart your computer. If no change, you can activate it by going to the mouse properties. In some laptops, you can try pressing FN+F7.

However, if the above troubleshooting does not fix the problem. I suggest you click on the link below so that you will be directed to a guide a prepared on how to fix this kind of problem.

Aspire as3810TZ touchpad stopped working.

Press the mouse lock button. Most times you toggle the touchpad by a button at the top in the middle of the touchpad.

Some systems will have you to tap twice in the upper left hand corner of the touchpad to toggle the touchpad.

I've also seen some systems where you would have to Press and Hold the ALT or the FN key located at the lower left portion of the keyboard then hit the key that toggles the touchpad. The key that toggles the touchpad will have the icon of a finger pointing at a square which represents the touchpad.

if all fails Click Start/Control Panel and look for mouse or touchpad. Go in and set the settings back to default.

You could try reinstalling the touchpad drivers.
Get onlineand got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "AcerSupport" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operatingsystem when requested. Download and install the Touchpad rivers.

Where is the touchpad lock on the Hp probook laptop.

Hi.

Turn off the touchpad Most HP notebooks come with an on/off button near the touchpad. If you do not wish to use the touchpad at this time, press this button. Press it again when you wish to use this accessory again. If the notebook does not have an on/off button for the touchpad, touch and hold the top-left corner of the touchpad for approximately 5 seconds to disable it and do this again to activate it. When the touchpad is disabled, a small light will illuminate on the touchpad and an icon will appear briefly of the touchpad with a line through it. When the touchpad is activated, a small light will turn off on the touchpad and an icon will appear briefly of the touchpad. Alternatively, if the notebook does not have an on/off button for the touchpad, and you wish to turn the touchpad off, open the Mouse Properties window, select the Device Settings tab, and click the Disable button. You may re-enable the touchpad from here at any point.

Regards.

Elan smart pad not working

I had issue with my Elan touchpad and my solution after a bunch of head ache was to shut down computer, unplug, and pull the battery out. After doing so I touched the touchpad while computer is off and the power button. Then put battery back in and started up and it was solved... Magic! It worked for my problem (Touchpad was not even showing up in device manager computer didn't think it had one, it wouldn't even work when I booted into Linux) There must of been some really weird charge on the capacitor so this allowed it to discharge. Think of it as hitting the reset button.
And of course make sure your touchpad is enabled in the bios or with the touchpad on/off button either on your keyboard F-Keys or a button next to the touchpad (that the touchpad off button is not set). Also check touchpad settings in your mouse settings section to.

Emachine E725 touchpad does not work

The eMachines E725 has a built in switch to toggle the touchpad on or off by the touch of a button. Look at the button to the left of the main power switch. You'll notice the icon looks like a hand touching a rectangle - or touchpad. if this button is lit up, the touchpad is turned off. simply press the button to toggle the touchpad back on. The light on the button should now be off.
It's that simple. I hope this helps.

Mouse Buttons on Compaq Presario V3000 Don't Work

Might need to take it apart and clean them. Did you spill something in there? Also make sure your mouse properties are set right click speed etc) in Control Panel. Can you double-tap the touchpad to make selections.

Tochpad Right button do not function.

If the laptop is less than a year old then it maybe able to be repaired under warranty.
The touchpad contains electronic components just like a mouse, and a fault could develope like any electronic device.
First thing, go into the BIOS configuration and set the BIOS configuration back to the default settings, then save, exit and reboot the laptop.
If this doesn't fix the problem then connect and use an USB mouse instead of the touchpad.
