I have a toshiba copier that will not pick up paper, what can I clean the rollers with? Could that be the problem? Is there something I could condition the rollers with?

After looking closer last night I believe I need to replace them. I was just hoping to find a temporary fix. I was given this machine, am trying to see what all it needs. I already found a temporary fix for the corona wire, this is what came up as the next problem.

You can use just about anything to clean it, the question is what is the condition of the rollers? is it as smooth as a baby bottom, or is it rough? the tires need to be rough, otherwise it will be "slipping"

How do I fix a Canon MP460 printer that feeds multiple sheets at a time, even for a one-page document, causing a paper jam?

Assumed you have cleaned out the feeding slot and sprockets that turn the feeder wheels. Often there's some piece of paper or gunk. One option that likely applies to most printers -- from another HP online source: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00190540&cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en
  1. Look for paper that might have jammed inside the product. Use a flashlight to carefully view the areas around the rollers. Remove all traces of paper found.
  2. Wipe the rubber paper-feed rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled or bottled water. Rotate the rollers up carefully to clean all the way around.
  1. Look for the paper pick roller farther inside the rear access area. The paper pick roller
IMPORTANT : The paper pick roller is a bit more difficult to reach; however, it is the most important part to clean. Make sure to clean it thoroughly. If this roller is not clean, the issue will likely continue.
  2. Clean the paper pick roller with a cotton swab moistened with distilled or bottled water. Apply a moderate amount of pressure to make sure that you remove all debris. Clean the roller thoroughly all the way around. Figure 8: Clean the paper pick roller

  3. Make sure that the rollers on the rear access door or duplexer are clean and in good condition. If any are missing, stuck, or loose, replace the rear access door or duplexer with a new one. Figure 9: Rear access door rollers

  4. Allow the rollers to dry completely, and then replace the rear access door or duplexer. Slide the rear access door or duplexer into place, and then gently push it in until it clicks or snaps into place.

Hp officejet pro l7780 all in one printer, Cleaned the pick up roller still not picking up paper

The pick up roller may be worn and in need of replacement. The slight grinding noise is the pickup roller trying to work but slipping

Have a dell 1110 printer that will not pick up paper. Roller has been cleaned of dust with alcohol pad

You may want to try looking at the rollers through the back of the printer when it tries picking up paper. Look and try to see if the roller assembly is even turning the rollers. If that works fine and you can see the rollers trying to push the paper into the paper path, there may be something blocking the paper from going through. Pull the paper tray out and inspect it for any damaged or missing parts. Then look on the underside of the printer where the paper path begins. Chances are there is just some jammed paper keeping any more pages from going through. If the rollers have been cleaned they could just be worn out and need replacing. Contact Dell tech support if you can't fix it yourself or need any parts.

the pick-up roller may be worn out but to clean use isopropyl alcohol 90% not 50%. you can also get a solution from an electronics store called rubber rejuvinator works good on worn rollers but is just a temp solution.

The copier usually got paper-jammed at Tray 1 after making a few dozens copies... and after a while, it looks fine again! Is it something wrong with the feeder?

You could try removing tray 1 to clean the pick up and feed rollers with rubbing alcohol or soapy water, just make sure they are completely dry before trying to make a copy. Hope this helps. To remove tray 1, pull the tray out until it stops. Then lift up on front side of the tray and it will release from the machine. The feed rollers are towards the right.

Check if you have any matter that is blocking the paper path, also try to clean the rollers that picks up paper. If you happened that copier is in a dusty enviroment, dust could deposit on rollers, and rollers when picking up paper will start slipping. Try to clean with alcohol.

Printer not picking paper

If your printer is not picking up the paper, then it has something to do with the feed rollers not the cartridge.
Take the tray out where you place the plain paper, then get a flashlight and look for some Gray colored rollers.
These rollers need to be cleaned every so often.
I suggest a chemical called "GOO GONE" that is available at your local hardware store. Do NOT get "GOOF OFF" this chemical is too strong and will also melt some plastic material that is out there.

Take a paper towel, and put some GOO GONE on it, and clean the gray rollers.
Then try printing something and see if this helps.
Good luck.
Please remember to post a feedback rating if I have helped you.
Mac =)
