Cant open door - Neff H5470 Microwave Oven

One of the door opening parts has failed, most likely the lever or the door open button.

You will need to take the outer cover off the oven, then you can see the door opening parts.

As you try to make the door open, you can see the mechanism and which piece has failed.

verify that door is perfectly aligned with frame edge , sometimes in busy kitchens the door gets bumped and it no longer aligns with frame , if one forces it shut the mild spring that pops it open cant overcome the friction of frame hitting and it wont open requiring one to "HELP" it to open while holding down open button , look at latch carefully when open to see if any parts look bent or "not quite right "

try throwing the circuit breaker and see what happens.

Possible fault in the door lock assembly where the reset switch is also placed. So if this switch is jammed or the lock has not opened then the door may not close.
So remove power connection and open top lid to look into this section.

You can try a check with a search for microwave repairs in Beijing.
Also if you can open the top covers, then the door can be ejected out , the door handle can be then taken out and replaced/rectified.

Door catches.

One of the latches has broken off and is not lifting the other latch clear of the housing. Remove from any power source, remove the cover of the cabinet. Slacken off the clamp mechanism and ease the clamp over the guide to allow the door to open. When a new door lever is in place, the door may be easily adjusted by slackening off the screws that clamp the door catch/actuators in place whilst holding the door closed and then tightening the screws. The rear of the door may be adjusted by slackening the lower door hinge screws and adjusting as required.

The cooling fans run for a time after the magnatrons have stopped, The magnatrons are the heating components so I dont think you are in any danger as the microwave doors are double locked so the magnatrons cant run once the door is open

What usually breaks is the door open lever. Sometimes it may be a worn door open button (the back side) or the face of the lever.

On a counter top model, the outer cover will need to be removed to diagnose and repair this.

On an over-the-range model, only the control panel needs to be removed. At our site, we have a video showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Once it is apart, you'll be able to see how the door open button would press against the door open lever, which would then lift up against the door latch heads (hook-like projections on the door) and the door should open.

Unless there is some kind of safety seal addressed in the manual, I would think the door open lever has failed.

If that's the case, I would return it for a replacement.

The door latch mechanism is all plastic and commonly breaks. You have to take the cover off and work on it from the inside.
