What do u mean by restore? u mean to format ur hard disk/.reinstall the windows/made some hardware changes/change the proceser/motherboard.plz explain it properly than i can answer ur first problem.however let me tell u the ram never gives u the complete support.it will allways keep some less from u have.its allways give u under 480 aprox insted of 512.i can give u a example of myself.i have.1280mb of RAM but i m getting only 1120mb instesd of it.becouse our system take some less memory from we gives it.its not a problem.its a normal thing and u can see it in any p.c..u cant find more than 480 mb of ram whre a 512 ram is pluged in.

First, your pc5300 memory runs default at 6300Mhz, not 333. Perhaps your motherboard Front Side Bus line is 333 in which case the memory will drop to that speed, but if the FSB and memory match speed, then it would run at 6300. Since you have an older unit, I would suppose you are running only 333, and that is average speed for that config. In addition, you are only running 1 gig RAM, which is woefully inadequate for Windows 7, so everything you do is going to be slow.

you cannot change the speed of your processor unless your processor supports overclocking. however your processor does not support that.

if your computer is running slow try upgrading the RAM to 1GB.
also check to see whether you have unwanted applications running in the background

Memory upgrade on presario 4403us desktop

Hi yes thats correct you can have only 512mb RAM. This is due to your motherboard limitations or bios limitations. The only way is to change the motherboard this will allow you to also have latest usb 2 support. Just buy a motherboardboard thats compatible with your processor and existing memory.

UpGrade

you could only upgrade the processor and RAM in this condition i.e.

you can only change your an upgraded p-III processor like 1.0 GHz, 1.1 GHz or 1.3GHz and
upgrade the RAM by changing to 256 in each slot.

that is all what u can do with ur pc
