Battery sparks on hook up positive and negetive terminals are correct

You will get sparks if you connect or disconnect the battery incorrectly. The problem with sparks are they can fire voltage and current spikes down wires to sensitive electrical/electronic components, meters, clocks, alarms etc.

There is only one way to safely and correctly remove and re-fit a motorcycle battery. To remove it undo negative lead first then positive. To fit/refit a battery connect positive lead first then negative. Hope this helps

96 chevy starter clicks with new starter and battery good. if my ground straps are bad from frame to motor and frame to body could this cause my problem

yes it could but it could also be a resistance in the positive cables,,,, one way to check if the earths are bad is to attach a jump lead from the body of the starter to the negetive of the battery thus giving a good earth to the starter body directly,,, make sure not to short positive to negetive as this will get dangerous and cause fire or burns to yourself,,, if this starts the car you then inspect the earths from the battery to the engine and chassis,,,,if this doesnt work check that on the small terminal of the starter that you are getting a power supply constantly when the ignition is turned to start position as a faulty ignition switch can also cause this,,,, positive heavy cables from the battery can also get faulty so check these for good connection but be careful at all times not to cause a short as these are high power and can do alot of harm to you and your car

My nokia 6288 is alway getting hot why? And what do i do

Any history of water damage? is the battery already deform or blowing? the phone might turn into some kind of shortage that is why it is getting hot, or the battery voltage is already open and needs replacement.

By the use of multi-tester, you can testify if the phone is shorted or some short circuit board, please follow this steps

* on your phone, locate the positive and negative terminal of the battery connector, usually both ends is the given polarity(facing at the back of your phone, positive is in the left terminal and negative would be the right terminal)

* on your multi-tester,switch the selector to Rx1 (resistance)

* using the red pin (positive) of the tester, hit the negative terminal of the phone.
* using the black pin (negative) of the tester, hit the postive terminal of the phone.
* if the tester meter don't respond,it means the phone is normal and that's the time you need to replace a new battery.
* but if the tester meter raise high or even a little, that means the phone is in short circuit problem, again,if the phone is water damage, dismantle the 4 screws at the back of your phone and release the back cover, carefully remove the flex connector attach, now lift up the pcb or motherboard, clean it pcb using any rust solution and toothbrush, dry it after, now assemble the phone and make a test again.

* if the phone still got meter rating on the tester, better bring the phone to a mobile service center for a complete diagnosis and troubleshooting.

Thank you for using Fixya...

Please tell me where are the positive and negetive ends of the battery for a jump start, my batttery is dead Dr.S.V.Anand

If you can locate the battery, telling the positive from the negative terminal easy.

Inspect the terminals closely; the positive terminal has a 'plus' (+) sign near it. This terminal is also larger than the other (usually).

Similarly the negative terminal has a 'minus' (-) near it.

Also visit this page for more information on jump starting.
