Download and install Malwarebytes. It's a free malware removal utility that works great.

Two important notes:

1. For it to be completely effective you'll need to update it prior to running a scan.
2. Many malware programs actually prevent the installation of these types of programs, it may be necessary to start your PC in safe mode (F8 during the boot process) to get it installed.

Finally, once the malware is removed, you can download a free personal version of AVG anti-virus to help protect your machine in the future.

Pls advise if the following processes running in my Task Manager are viruses or genuine system processes - ccSvcHst.exe; lsass.exe; explorer.exe, winlogon.exe; svchost.exe; wuauclt.exe; jqs.exe;...

ccSvcHst.exe - works to display the GUI (Graphical User Interface) of Norton products, which usually include the Norton Security Suites.
lsass.exe - Disable and remove lsass.exe Immediately. This process is most likely a virus or trojan.

Other processes are required for essential applications to work properly.

You can visit this liutilities.com and search for the process your not familiar with.

Please rate this if you find this helpful.

Thanks,

Hi i bought ASUS REPUBLIC OF GAMERS LAPTOP so it included webroot antivirus ,it worked well but now stopped working when i double click spy sweeper.exe it says installation or upgrade error , i am also...

The trail period for your Webroot spy sweeper had expired, so you have to buy the programme.

Alternatively your can use free version Malware or Anti-Spyware programs like Malwarebytes Anti-Malware or SUPERAntiSpyware which indeed very good software in detecting & removing Spyware or Malware from your PC/Laptop.

Hope it helps.

Click the red Moveit! button. When the tool is finished, it will produce a report for you. If you are asked to reboot the machine choose Yes.

Step 2.

Download MalwareBytes Anti-malware (MBAM)

http://en.kioskea.net/download/download-105-malwarebytes-anti-malware

Once downloaded, close all programs and windows on your computer.

Double-click on the icon on your desktop named mbam-setup.exe. This will start the installation of MalwareBytes Anti-malware onto your computer. When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process. Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to "Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware" and Launch "Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware". Then click Finish.

MalwareBytes Anti-malware will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

As MalwareBytes Anti-malware will automatically update itself after the install, you can press the OK button to close that box and you will now be at the main menu. You will see window similar to the one below.

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware Window
Make sure the "Perform quick scan" option is selected and then click on the Scan button to start scanning your computer. This procedure can take some time, so please be patient.

When the scan is finished a message box will appear that it has completed scanning successfully. Click OK. Now click "Show Results". You will see a list of infected items similar as shown below.
Note: list of infected items may be different than what is shown in the image below.

Malwarebytes Anti-malware, list of infected items
Make sure all entries have a checkmark at their far left and click "Remove Selected" button. MalwareBytes Anti-malware will now remove all of associated Trojan FakeAlert files and registry keys and add them to the programs' quarantine. When MalwareBytes Anti-malware has finished removing the infection, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.

My computer giving on access-protection:virus

Please download Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware from the link below:

http://www.majorgeeks.com/Malwarebyt...are_d5756.html

Double Click mbam-setup.exe to install the application. (If the file won't run correctly, try renaming it to something else, like "gogetup.exe", then double click it to install it. Some variants of malware will prevent the "mbam-setup.exe" file from running.)

* Make sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
* If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
* Once the program has loaded, select "Perform Full System Scan", then click Scan.
* The scan may take some time to finish,so please be patient.
* When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
* Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
* When disinfection is completed, a log will open in Notepad and you may be prompted to Restart.
* The log is automatically saved by MBAM and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.

Extra Note:
If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be presented with 1 of 2 prompts, click OK to either and let MBAM proceed with the disinfection process,if asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately.

Msa.exe has stopped working and trojandownloader:win32/renos.js keeps popping up and I cant remove it or find what it is. How do I stop the problem?

This is an indication of malware that has been installed onto your computer. Please follow the steps outlined in this malware removal guide to safely scan your system with MBAM and remove the trojan.
Also be advised that service pack 3 includes many security upgrades and patches for xp, and you would be better protected by installing it, if you are indeed still running only with sp2.
For more details about msa.exe see here.
For more info about the trojan see here.
If you prefer to create a post and get expert guided assistance in the removal of the malware, please choose one only from the list of malware removal sites in the last part of this post., then follow through until you are given a clean bill of health.
If you do not have a good antivirus program running on your system, or yours has allowed this infection to be installed, I recommend you look into Avira or Avast. They are both free and reputable.
Good luck.

I hope this information allows you to resolve this issue. If you need further assistance, please post back with a comment to this thread.
If I've managed to answer your question or solve a problem, please take just a moment to rate this post....thanks!
