Bootmgr missing is a state when the system is not able to get the information about the bootable files or the OS.
This can easily be fixed by repairing the bootmgr provided you have the OS disk. You can order a recovery disk for Acer Travel mate from acer support site or if you can arrange for a installation Disk for your Operating system.
Incase you need any assistance to order an OS disk or recovery disk for your system please let me know.
Can you let me know if you are able to go to the Recovery options when you press Alt + F10 or it simply does not respond the keypress.
hi..if u have a Windows XP installer just put in the CD/DVD player then auto run the win XP and make install the new windows/OS and make a choice leave the current files if you to re cover the files using a new install OS/Windows..Good Luck and Have a Nice Day...
1 - Place CD in the Drive 2 - Restart PC and go into Bios by pressing Del, F2 or whatever instruction the start up screen says.
3 - Go to Boot configuration and set it to Boot from CD 4 - Save and Exit 5 - Follow onscreen instructions untill you get to the Windows install screen. 6 - You may have to create a partition (Drive Letter) on your hard drive if nothing was there before, you can assign as much hard drive space as you want to this. If your not sure just use all the space available. This will be your C drive. 7 - Pick the drive you just created and install windows on it using the on screen menu. It will ask you if to format the drive, say yes and use NTFS not FAT as NTFS has more features. 8 - Just say yes to all questions asked after this point.
When windows is installed it will ask you for a CD key and to activate by going on the net, I'm afraid I can't help you with this.
