Why has the slide mechanisim become stiff on my sony erricson w995

Try connecting the phone to a different laptop; preferably a Windows one to see if that succeeds. The Sony website doesn't list any Apple MacOS drivers, so not sure if it will ever work.

Installing the drivers from: http://www.driverscape.com/download/sony-ericsson-w995 onto a Windows PC should let you download the pictures to that PC without any problem.

Try pulling the sim card and scraping the contact points with a razor edge then reinsert the sim.

just happened to mine awhile ago...did it get in contact in water or exposed to anything harsh? replacing the display flex cable might solve it... ;-)

buy orginal one

the battery might be faulty. try taking it out then put it back in. charge it, if that doesn't work, get a new battery.

go to the above link and then download the update for ur phone....then install it...then update ur phone....it will become alright..... dnt forget to vote for my answer

sounds like needs a new keypad membrane which i would recommend getting your local phone shop that unlocks phones repairs

get a stiff thin putty knife to slide behind the panel...slide it next to an unseen plastic fastner and carefully pry up...fasteners are easily replaceable if need be. remove any visible screws first..But, try to lube the lock mechanisim first....good luck
