Printer need to download software for printer,disk i have is old

It's a good thing because the old Floopy disk software is just that, OLD.
Go to www.hp.com and download the latest software drivers

If you do not have the software, you need to download the software from one of the following locations:

Canon USA:DRIVER & DOWNLOADS

After ending download , unplug the printer USB and run the software that you downloaded.
The software installer will tell you when to connect USB.

Go to Brothers web site and look for downloads or drivers. Download the drivers for your model and install them. Also if it has any software/manuals that the model uses you should find it there as well. I you already have software installed I would uninstall and reinstall the software you download.

Lexmark does not distribute replacement install disk for all models.

Contact Lexmark here, to see if the disk for your printer is available.

Chose to download the file in my documents when asked.
After downloading, find the file,double click on the file ,then if you get in troubles, follow the instructions below to reset and reinstall drivers:

• Unplug printer USB.
• Go to control panel >> installed printers in Windows and remove (delete ) any installed printer from printer list.
• Download driver from website, or use the disk and run the install file.
  
• Follow driver installation wizard.
• Plug back printer when prompted from installation wizard.

Note:some printerdoes not work on Vista, if you do not find any driver download for Vista on your model page, that means your model is not Vista compatible.

If you have Vista, old printers may not work.

You need to download the driver software ( same you got in the disk ) from Lexmark website.
Download software into the computer where you are going to install the printer. It is important that you do not connect the printer before installing software.
Install the software downloaded and connect printer only when explicitly required by software setup program.
