As for hardwarde youll need a usb or firewire but i prefer usb beause its easy to use. as for software youll need a driver and installed to recognize your device to the computer.youll need another software to edit your videos and save it whatever type of videos that you like.

How to finalize

You need to transfer some pictures and video clips to computer, then delete the pictures (that you have transferred to computer) on camcorder to make some room to finalize the DVD.

How does one transfer videos and stills onto cd/dvd and/or a pc?

I find the best way is with your own computer. Using a system like iMovie you can hook up your camera, import the footage and from there burn it onto a CD/DVD. Hope that helps.

Transfer to dvd

The disk from your cam should play on any standard dvd player.

The size of the disk is irrelevant.

You may even notice a smaller circle in the tray of your dvd player but even if you can't, it should still play.

Best wishes.

Video transfer

you can't do that, you need converting software such as, Adobe Premiere or Pinnacle or something similar that will allow you to download the vob and make your own movie to burn onto a larger dvd.

How does one transfer the video or 'still pictures' from Canon DC210 Camcorder onto their PC?

All you should have to do is finalize the disc. Put it in your DVD drive and select the scenes and photos. you need to have DVD playback software to play the disc also if its a DUAL layer disc you have to make sure the drive in your PC can play DL.
Enjoy,

Dvd to prints

You can either
1. Transfer the still pictures from the camcorder to the PC, and then, either
1.1 use your PC software to print the pictures, or
1.2 use an online photo processing lab to print the pictures for you.
OR
2. Take the disc from the camcorder to a local photo printing shop and ask them to print the pictures you want printed.

But first ...
before you can transfer pictures or video from your Canon DC210 to your PC you need to finalise the disc in the camcorder.

You also need to make sure that the DVD drive on your PC is capable of reading a DVD-R, DVD-R DL or DVD-RW format as these are the only disk formats that the DC210 will handle. Not all PC DVD drives can read these formats.

To finalise the disk you must have the power adapter connected to the camera, plugged into a wall socket and turned on. Then, switch on the camera, put it into playback mode, Press 'Func.', select main menu, select 'disk operations', select 'finalise'. Don't move or shake the camera or switch it off whilst the finalising step is underway - this could cause problems.

Once finalising is complete, take it out of the camcorder and then follow steps 1.1, 1.2 or 2 above.

Good Luck.
