I have a B&D Cordless

I have a B&D Cordless Drill which uses a 12volt PS130 power pack. The charger transformer is PB-1120-1l and is in good condition. The part that the battery plugs into for charging has failed.
Can I purchase just this part? Or what will happen if I run the wires from the transformer straight to the battery?
