Compatible with Mac?

Just bought the Hannspree HF229H monitor at Best Buy to use with my Mac PowerBook G4. I also bought a Mini-DVI to VGA adapter. Plugs in fine but the install software CD is not working. Can I get installation software to make this monitor work with my Mac or do I need a different monitor?
