Thinkcenter desktop computers usb drivers I have

Hi,

Firstly, what operating system are you using? Have you tried uninstalling your usb drivers in 'device manager' then reinstalling them? If this does not solve the problem, use your Windows recovery CD in order to reinstall your system files.

Let me know if you need any further assistance.

Best wishes,
Graemevm

WHEN I TRY TO PLUG IN A HARD DRIVE OR A PRINTER INTO ANY USB SOCKET I GET A MESSAGE SAYING USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED BUT IT WILL PICK UP A FLASH DRIVE PLEASE HELP

Is it an external/portable hard drive? Use the rear USB panel, if problems persist, try using your hard drive on another PC. And if you're still having problems, try replacing the USB cables of both the hard drive and printer. If it works on another PC/laptop, buy a PCI USB panel, and install it on the PCI slot of the motherboard. Hope This will help you.

My computer has stopped recognising the driver for a 500gb Lacie Premier Multimedia Hard disk. It appears as 'Unknown device". how do i locate and replace the driver.

Most USB accessories do not get recognized well when plugged in before startin the computer. The exception seems to be mice. USB hadr drives and flash drives specially seem to have this problem. I always use the disconnect icon in the system tray to disconnect before shutdown and plug them in after windows has stabilized. I even gets worse if you use a USB hub. Some devices will not be recognized when attached to a hub.

Pen drive is not getting recognised

If you are using windows - try opening up the device manager (you can find this in the control panel) and then go to disk management and see if the USB Flash drive appears in the list.

If it does show (you will see its name total size and free space) - then try changing the drive letter (right click for this option).

If it does not show then try a different USB port on your computer and choose refresh within the disk management window.

If it still does not show - then test it on another computer (repeat above steps if it does not automatically work).

If it still doesn't work when testing on a different PC - its most likely a physical issue with the flash drive itself - so try taking it back to where u brought it from 4 a replacement. Otherwise its time for an upgrade :)

Im plugging my flash drive into the usb and nothing is coming up. this one works in other computers but not this one

For starters, what is the operating system of this computer?
Windows XP will recognise flash drives, 2000 seems to recognise some but if you have 95, 98 or Me you need to install a driver for the drive. The manufacturer of the drive may not even supply one.

Computer is not recognising the flash drive

Do other computers read the flash drive? If not, faulty drive. If yes, it may be recognized but you have Auto-play disabled. That's actually a good thing. Assuming this is a Windows computer that is at least XP or newer, open Windows Explorer (not Internet Explorer) BEFORE connecting the USB drive. Then left-click on the My Computer item. The right side of the screen will display all currently recognized drives. Plug in the USB drive and watch the righ side of the screen. I'll bet a new drive will appear within about 45 seconds. If so, just double click on the new drive and you'll see all your "stuff". If not, you may have a faulty USB port.
