Hi,

Is the Epson CX7800 connected to the PC through a USB or parallel (LPT1) connection? Have you tried the printer in another PC and if yes, does the same problem occurs?

If you are using parallel, it may be necessary to go to the CMOS/BIOS setup of your PC and try the different LPT port selection, EPP, ECP, Normal and others available, Save and Exit and try again;

If USB, determine if it is indeed the printer or it is the printer's setting in your OS (by trying the printer in another PC).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Try cleaning the drum and checking it for excessive wear. Let me know how this works out.

Just take a cloth and wipe it down, it is the big black spindle that the paper rolls on when printed onto. If it isn't clearly smooth, then it may need replacing.

Did you get a lot of ink off of the drum?

Did you recently replace the ink cartridges?

Has anything been changed when this started happening?

Are both images perfect or does one seem very good and the other image just extra lines printed on the paper with poor quality?

Why is my Epson WF 2530 double shadow printing?

Allen, that's very unusual. I've been using a workforce printer for years, and haven't ever seen anything like that.
What paper are you using, and what paper setting in your computer?
When you rand a nozzle test, were the nozzle lines even, or did some look kind of out of place? (a deflected nozzle will give that gosting effect, and "underhead cleaning" is the answer)

My x3350 double prints text. It will overlay each sentence on itself. When I print worksheets on excel every other vertical line will be double-printed. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall the...

This may be a cartridge misalignment issue. First try printing with the settings changed to black and white print only. If this does not work then print in fast or draft mode (this should print in a single pass with less ink. Normal or best quality is usually done by passing the cartridges over the line twice.
Run the cartridge alignment test and see if it can be correctly aligned.
It could also be that the belt that moves the cartridge holder is loose and so two passes of the print head are misaligned. This may not be repairable (at least not economically).

I have a Brother MFC-210. It was working well. When I moved and hooked it back up. It was printing some pages fine and then it started printing double like 3d. Started with a few words. Now the whole page...

Check the alignment. Press the key for Ink or Ink Management on the Control Panel. Select Test Print (the up/down arrows) and hit Menu/Set or Set. Select Alignment and press Menu/Set or Set. Next hit Mono (Black) Start. Look at the Alignment Sheet that prints out. Press 1 if the number 5 sample matches line 0 for both 600 and 1200 DPI samples. Press 2 and then the number for the line that matches that matches the 0 sample.
Then press Stop/Exit. Repeat this for color printing by using the Color button.

You should also check the Print Quality. (Very similar menu choices - just choose Print Quality after choosing Test Print but you only need to hit the Color button to print the test sheet.) This will initiate a cleaning cycle for any poor quality ink test pattern. You will need to respond Yes or No for the print quality and each ink (if you answered No). If you do the cleaning 5 times with problems, replace the cartridges in question.

Finally try cleaning the printhead (Press Ink or Ink Management and then 1 for cleaning) If 5 repeats do not help, contact Brother support, the print head may need to be replaced. (Unfortunately, this isn't the only reason for the problem. Once you put in a print head, it isn't returnable. It could be that the entire printer is ready for recycling.)

I hope this helps.

Epson Stylus CX4800 prints blurred pictures

ok..first you will need to print the nozzle check and see if all the color are printed out fine.. this feature is under the printer properties , under the utility tab.... assuming all your colors nozzle are printed fine..then the next thing for you to do is do the Print Head Alignment.. it's under the same place where you print the nozzle check.. when you press the Print Head Alignment, it will print a page out with many lines.. choose the one with the best alignment.. once u done that..try printing the image again..
oh..if your nozzle check print out is not good.. then you will need to perform head cleaning to clear the clogged head..

When was the last time the heads were aligned? If that's not it, it's the belt.

Aligning print head doesn't fix the printing

You only need to clean the encoder strip. The plastic strip behind the carriage assembly. Wipe it gently with a damp Q-tip and the double lines will go away.

My Brother MFC-465CN is printing text with alignment off and double text.

My Brother printer MFC-465cn is doing the same thing. I have workaround / worked-around it by disabling bi-directional printing. Then print is clear. It's as if the head is shifting an irregular amount on the opposite direction, like the head is loose.

Same for copies. If I use the PC interface to make copies, I can set the copy printing to be mono-directional, then copies are clear.

Double printing

You need to re-align the heads of your printer... go to printer properties - then printer preferences - click on maintenance ... now align those print problems...
