Hooking up two pc to the dsl modem at the same time

i was looking at the modem and notice it had a usb and ethernet ports. so i hook up two pc to the dsl modem and it works with out a router.so what will this do to my modem

I have the same problem.

normally since it has usb and ethernet in one modem, it will divide the bandwith of your current speed.. i would suggest for you to use router so u can assign ip in both computers
