Go into the menu and find the lamp timer. You should then be able to reset the timer back to zero.

HP VP6111 Projector. problem: From day one when I bought it brand new, this projector had problems starting the bulb. Everytime I didn't use the projector for some time, when I tried to turn it on it...

It is a pity you did not return it after the first problem. If it is still under Warranty, I suggest you do now. Even if it is out of time, it is still 'not fit for purpose '

I have an HP VP6111 projector. It hasn't been used for about 6mths and now I try to power it on and the Blue light around the on/off button will light up for about 3 seconds and then turn off. I've...

Please do not unplug the power cord before POWER is shut down or during the two-minute cooling process.
If the projector is not properly shut down, to protect the lamp, the system will detect this and cool the lamp for two minutes automatically before turning on again.

Check that you are doing this.

I suspect that this is not your problem though.

It seems that the blue light doesn't flash very long. do any other lights come on during the startup process.

Connected VGA cable to my pc and projector.Searching only

First off be sure that you plug into the input connector. As you look at the back of the projector it the VGA connector on the left. Also make sure you activate the VGA output of you computer (This mainly applies to laptops and secondary Video jacks on PCs).

Multi-media projection without image

A great deal of the time DVD players are very restrictive on outputting to multiple sources due to copyright protection. In my experience, if you use your laptops function keys to toggle output (For example, on my laptop, I hit FUNCTION + F4 to cycle between LCD,LCD+VGA,VGA), you should be able to disable the laptop's LCD display, only outputting via the VGA cable. It's worked for me with my HP VP6111 and Windows XP in the past. Hope this helps!

Projector overheating and turns off after 20 mins

I have a HP VP6111 projector that works fine on a table top but overheats ( overheating ) when turned upside down and hung from my ceiling. My solution...I went to Circuit City and bought two 80mm computer fans. I also purchased a 12V power supply from Radio Shack. I put one fan on front of my projector and the other on the back of the projector and wired them into the 12V power supply. I mounted both fans with velcro. The front fan pushes air and the rear fan pulls air. The projector now runs fine without shutting off. The fans are 12V and push 34 cubic feet per minute of air. I am very happy with this solution.
